CORRIE favourite Fred Elliott heads to church for his big day — but it ends up being his last.
Fred — actor John Savident, 68 — filmed his final scenes on the soap yesterday.
He gets dressed up to wed sweetheart Bev Unwin (Susie Blake) and pops in to see ex Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) beforehand.
Moving ... paramedics carry out Fred's body in tragic final scene
But poor Fred collapses at her home and moments later is carried out by paramedics with a sheet covering his face.
The tragic scenes will be shown next month.
An ITV insider said: “There won’t be a dry eye in the house.”
John decided to quit after 12 years in February, branding show chiefs “greedy”.
