here a review of it i found

ROBBIE WILLIAMS’ new track Rudebox is not only the worst song by him I’ve heard, it’s the worst record I’ve EVER heard (and believe me, I’ve had to listen to some sh*te in the past).

I’m not allowed to put the track on a phone line for legal reasons, but to give you an idea of what it’s like, try to imagine you and your mates messing around in your bedroom with a drum machine while comedy “rapping” over the top.

The only difference is Robbie is actually allowed to release this rubbish because he has a record deal. It shouldn’t be allowed on grounds of taste.

Whereas Madonna and Kylie came up with brilliant tracks such as Music and Slow when they branched out from pop to dance, Robbie’s attempt is a tuneless electro dirge that sounds like someone randomly slapping all the presets on a cheap Casio keyboard.

When he’s rapped on records in the past, Robbie has got away with it because he’s then sung a rousing or catchy chorus which is the climax of the song.

But I’m afraid Rudebox has him “rapping” all the way through. Frankly it’s a load of, um, ’rap.

Don’t get me wrong — I’m a huge fan of Robbie’s music. Angels, Come Undone, Rock DJ, No Regrets, Millennium and the genius Feel are all modern classics which will stand the test of time.

And I thought his performances at Knebworth and Live 8 were world-class — he’s a sensational showman.

But I’m sorry — this record is probably one of the worst in history. Actually, it is THE worst in history.

No doubt Robbie will be so incensed at this review that he will slap a ban on me being sent the rest of the album ahead of its release. I’ll let you know if he does.

In the past he’s not taken kindly to criticism.

Rudebox is taken from his new dance album, 1974, which I’ve heard has some great material on it.

He’s worked with the PET SHOP BOYS, DJ MARK RONSON and brilliant producer WILLIAM ORBIT on it and I hope the CD’s other tracks make up for this truly awful single.

Rudebox? Rudeb****x more like.

lol - I did think that but for a slight minute there I didn't want to sound like a prat and say it was someone else :rotfl:

I'm sorry to say, I am totally unimpressed by it. The video is awful (total yawnfest) and Robbie love, stick to what you're good at and not this rubbish :D

And I am being polite there too - I really do not like it one bit.

Think he should stick to the Ballads Robbie. Angels and all that. Dont really like it, but i think its as when i think of Robbie Williams thats not the music i associate with him.
