Television host Graham Norton has signed another exclusive contract with the BBC, which will last until 2009.
The comedian and presenter first joined the BBC in 2004 and has fronted shows including Strictly Dance Fever and How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?

"I'm thrilled to be signing with the BBC for another three years, I can't imagine working anywhere else," Norton said after the announcement.

BBC One controller Peter Fincham said Norton was "a joy to work with."

Wanted man

"Graham's going from strength to strength and How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? has been the Saturday night hit of the summer," he added.

"I'm really delighted that he's decided to stay at the BBC - he's a great talent."

Norton's talk show, The Bigger Picture, has also been recommissioned for a third series.

Earlier this year Channel 4 director of television Kevin Lygo admitted the station was in talks to try to lure Norton back.

Norton left Channel 4, where he had been given his own irreverent chat show in 1997, to join the BBC.

the question id like to ask is why? The only interesting thing he's done since leaving channel 4 is how do you solve a problem and apparently they had to force him to do it

I haven't watched anything hes done on BBC - I dont find him in the slightest bit entertaining. He was far better on Channel 4 with The Graham Norton Show - that did make me laugh, but nothing that he has done since.
