Looking for a little help folks

Hi all, it's nice to be here.
My name is Serena and I am looking for all you fans of soap to give me a little help (if you are so inclined)
Basically I am writing a short piece for a local magazine (nothing fancy-just a few pages and some staples really) and I have to write about soaps..now I don't want to just do a "what's coming up this week" bit but more of a general piece about the state of soaps in the UK today...now for the problem...I am stuck stuck stuck!! I have a million ideas but at the moment they are all floating around my head like so much flotsam and jetsom soooooooo I would appreciate any ideas that might kickstart me and stop me going for fag breaks every 10 minutes. I'm not looking to plagarise anyone, just a spark of inspiration would be great.
Any help you can offer would be fabulous and much appreciated.
