The DVD has released in US, still needs to come on Disney Channel in UK, seen the promos of it :cool:

This movie has been surprising, coz of the hyped it caused and how popular it got, coz it was only made for Disney Channel and be shown just on the channel :cool:

Right now its seems odd coz of him being 13 and her 16 seems big, but when he is 16 and she is 19 - that doesnt seem big in age gap :cool:

its been on twice tonight in our house and I've even had to download some of the songs for marley she loves it
My little sister was watching it and i couldnt be bothered to do anything else so i stayed and i realy enjoyed it. At the begining i thought it was a little bit like Grease but it soon became individual. I loved the songs and the messages it was getting across, how everyone can get along. It was really good. Ive been singing the songds all night as well, there dead catchy.

It's such a cheesy film and I have to admit I know all the words to all the songs. Shame on me. And did you know that "breaking free" is a great song to do the hoovering to. Ryan and Sharpey are brilliant characters I think - when they are warming up for Bop to the Top - so funny!

I've been waiting to see this movie for ages and everyone was talking about it! I watched it yesterday and i was so suprised how good it was! I thought it was going to be really really bad but all the songs are so catchy!
Im shocked how could you think it was going to bad!!!!!

I do as well, the songs make the movie, in fact the movies not that good its the people in it and the songs.
My favourites the Its hard to believe one.
In fact we gave my mate a lift home the other day and they were both laughing at me for knowing all the words. But what can you do. Its so addictive.

I watched the Learn the Moves part of the dvd today and it showed part of the Bop to the Top dance, which my son and I have already learnt, so it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I thought it might show the full moves to a couple of them, but sadly it doesn't. I have to say though Lucas Gabreel is a fantastic dancer!
I do as well, full on boogie when your in a traffic jam or whatever and the other impatient drivers are giving you funny looks. Just because they are all boring. There all really good dancers.
All this talking about the dances make me want to watch it where they each you the dances.

Ours is on constantly, even when we are doing our wasgij etc - my hubby keeps asking how come we aren't fed up of listening to them yet - I don't think I ever will get fed up of them to be honest though.

I have Jessie many times when it was on the disney channel and Marley got the DVD and CD for Christmas. She loves Gabirella and thinks she sounds just like her when she sings.
I think I've watched every showing on Disney Channel, and then the Sky +'d ones when Ci has decided he wanted to watch again and now we have the DVD, no doubt it will increase some more :D

I bought the dvd and cd in america whe we were there in october.We also saw the live pep rally in disneyworld and because it is and has become so big they are going to something even bigger with it at disney,so the cast member told me.

I'm in two minds - I'm excited as they are filming a sequel, but I'm worried that it will be spoilt, as with many. However, Cheetah Girls 2 is better than 1, so heres hoping! Although I am trying to think about what the storyline would be, as now everyone knows Troy and Gabriella can sing, and are they going to be up against Ryan and Sharpey for the lead roles again?! :searchme:
I can't wait though, and will watch before passing judgment :D

And guess what everyone, at my dance school we are doing another show in the crewe theatre and we are dancing to loads of high scholl musical songs!!!!!!!!!!!:D
I've discovered today that right from the start HSM was planned as a 3 parter, with all 3 films written and ready - so hopefully that should mean that the 2nd and 3rd films should be as good if not better than the first. It appears it won't just be a case of oh, the first movie was successful so lets build on it - it was always going to be this way anyway :cheer:
Oh and when Troy rang Gabriella's phone when she went into the classroom at the beginning of term - the ringtone was "The Start of Something New"!

My mate got me this for Christmas, as she swears to convert me. I watched it the other night, and it was actually really good! The songs are sooo catchy, and even if the plot is predictable from the start, the songs and charcters make up for that.
Bring on the next ones! :lol:

I had the rip taken out of me for admitting i had seen this. Honestly we were at guides and the other leaders took the mick something rotten. It was ok as i had a great conversation about the songs with the guides who were 10. Apparently there on my level.

I got this on Dvd for Xmas and will watch it this weekend! Hope it lives up to its reputation!

This is it Katy - its almost as if U certificate films are only suitable for young children, even though officially its all ages. I think most of my fave films are U cert.

I love Disney Orignal Movies (Cheetah Girls, HSM etc) and I'm 30! Who says you have to be a certain age to be able to enjoy these films.
Who cares what anyone else thinks - the songs, to me, are ones you can sing along to and if you're like me, jig along to in the car (scary thought there for everyone :rotfl: )
Exactly theres no age limit, its a U isnt it, suitable for ALL ages.I know ALL ages and then when I loves watching all my disney dvds my friends think Im crazy and childlike.

Yay I love it when people say that, i mean I have just a disney freak.
I like the disney films more and more as i get older. I didnt like them as a kid but i think they get better when you get older. Dont know why. I watched Cheetah Girls 2 today and that was really good as well, i was surprised. I thought it would be simular to HSM but it was nt lots of good songs again.
I know i find that too, well I loved them when i was younger as well but there is just something different about them when you watch them as you get older.
So what is everyones favourite song form this film?
Mine are Breaking free, and Stick to the status Quo.

IMO, HCM wasn't as good as it was reputed to be.
It was cheesy and predictable, and at times I cringed because it was just so stupid.
I thought the girl who played Gabriella was a terrible actress, and overall I thought the film was pretty poor.
I think anyone, any age can enjoy if it's their thing, but I personally haven't enjoyed stuff like this (basically, Disney movies) since I was about 10.
Having said that, I do have some of the songs on my iPod...

i agree, the film was so hyped that i watched it expecting it to be brill, but personally i found it rather boring, it didnt live up anywhere near to its expectations! dont get me wrong, i still love disney movies and things like that, just this one i didnt think was that great in comparison

oh of course there is. I love the one with Gabriella.
I think when i watched it there was not really that much hype about it. In fact i didnt even know what it was and watched it as my little sister had it on. So i think thats why i liked it so much as there was no expectation.

i love this film . . . it is absolutly brilliant especailly all the songs!!
The only hype that has been made about it, was what we ourselves have given it. Disney Channel is always on in my house, and it certainly didn't hype it up - its just what we have all created ourselves, and people forget, we all like different films.
Me, I love it, and have now watched it 12 times - but thats me.
yeah same here, i found it by accident on. Never seen any adverts or anything. Then it sort of hit off.

Anywho, thought it was brilliant!!! :D There were 2 songs I didn't like though :ninja: which were, "Getcha head in the game" and "Bop to the Top" I thought they were annoying ones :p But the rest were amazing! Don't regret buying it :D

Lol well I like all the songs but in "getcha head in the game" I do find it quite cringey and "Bop to the Top" well thats just funny because of the scene

There's one thing I would change... I think it would be better if, we got to know Troy and Gabriella before they sang 'start of something knew'. Perhaps, They had met each other before they sang that, then sang it, for me, it would be more sweet/special. I think that song was rushed into the beginning. I would have felt more loving if they had secret feelings before they sang...

Hmm thats a really good point, foe me I would of liked to see them Kiss at the end, sorry It just felt like they should of.
Random i know but i love 'We're all in this together' - yes okay that may be due to the fact that it was the finale song for the panto, and the song that tish made us dance to... but i still love it. And we are using it for our finale song in our show :) YAY!

And Gabriella and Troy are boyfriend and girlfriend!!! They will compete against another country club! Ryan begins to fall for a new girl from the other country club named Aurora Foster. But since the other country club is against The Evans's country club, Sharpay keeps Ryan away from Aurora and Theodore, Aurora's brother, keeps her away from Ryan. In the end, Troy and Gabriella will kiss, Taylor and Chad will kiss, and Ryan and Aurora will kiss!
