I was watching the episode from 2004 in which Sonia drove Martin to the holiday camp at which Pauline was staying in order for him to inform her that Mark had died from an AIDS related illness, and it got me thinking.

Why doesn't Martin drive anymore? I don't recall hearing anything about a ban and it can't be that you are never allowed to drive after knocking someone down and killing them because Pat killed a girl in that way once and gave Dot some driving lessons in 2005.

I saw him drive the other week,he took rebecca to school i recall this because i wondered how he was legally able to drive

It may have just affected him after killing Jamie, it happens to some people, it's like when you fall off a bike people say you should get straight back on as it knocks your confidence. He may now not have the confidence to drive anymore.

Not many, but since then we have seen quite a few of the residents drive.

We don't even know what has happened to the car, there's been nothing about him selling it. I didn't think Derek took it when he left because we didn't see him take it and Martin did own the car.

I don't mean like that, I mean when something happens to you in a certain situation you may not want to be in that situation again. Like if someone falls of a horse it knocks your confidence and if you suffer a injury it can relate in your brain to if you get back on the horse it may happen again. So Martin could now think that when he is driving he could crash again.
It's quite a common think as my mum fell off her bike when she was little and she has never road a bike since, she has attempted too but in the back of her mind she thinks she is going to come off again and end up in hospital again.

I think it's just theres not been much cause for him to drive lately storywise to be honest. I'd imagine he drives to the wholesalers to pick up stock for the stall. Be a bit hard to get the stuff otherwise?

Yes exactly and they don't show people driving much in EE anyway. I do remember him borrowing Joe's car to take Rebecca to school one day, so he does drive.

after he killed jamie with his car,he would have been banned as well as going to prison,and had to resit his test,and even if he did all that his insurance would be sky high didnt sonia take leesons to did she pass i cant remember,then again i'm past caring

No doubt another enders screw up. There again no one seems to drive anywhere or have a car. I guess they either use buses, tubes or cabs as this would be the easiest way to travel around London, traffic, parking etc.

That's what makes it so surprising that they possess the money that funds trips to the vic like three times a day, what with all the money they'd have to pay for the public transport.
