What was/is everyones ambitions in life??

I've been through strange phases where I wanted to be a lorry driver (yes, seriously :rotfl: ) and in the past 10 years wanted to get into forensic science, but now, running a business with my hubby and having the children, I know it will probably never happen... but running the business is extremely rewarding and we are able to provide for our family, so its something that we are very proud of.

I always wanted to be a nurse but that is not going to happen.. I am happy doing what I am doing now, working in IT industry.. I love learning and I will eventually go back to college to do a master or PhD but not now with the kids so young... All joking aside, I would love to be an F1 driver or work somewhere in the background

I also did a rally driving course for a day, and was told I was a total natural (was faster than the instructors on the time trial!!) and should take it up, but as much as I enjoyed it, I dont know, just didn't want to take them up on their offer.

I would love to go back to college (like I did when I was doing my engineering degree) but by the time the children are older now, I don't know whether I would feel it worth it anymore (which is a bit defeatist really)

saying that my ambition at the moment right NOW is to work abroad ive applied for a club rep job but im not sure how well I would fare doing that because I dont really want to sleep about and drink all the time which my friend who does it says happens alot also I can be very tempermental and lose my temper easy so maybe Im not doing the right thing?

other than that my life ambition would be to find happiness and have a proper family that all live together that would be nice

other than that my life ambition would be to find happiness and have a proper family that all live together that would be nice It depends on what club rep you are I would have thought. Sleeping around, or not, is your choice, its not part of the job description and I would have thought that its mostly the 18-30's style reps that end up drinking most nights, but even then I don't think it happens all the time - I've heard its extremely hard work.

yeah Ive heard its hard work as well which is ok becauseI dont mind that at all because I quite like working (weird I know)

Yeah your right about the sleeping around thing it is my choice I wouldnt do that anyway I dont get peer pressured which is a good thing.

if its what the job description says im ok if its what I hear it is Ill walk out-but ill give it a go before I make my mind up :)

I've been watching Club Reps on ITV after Love Island during the week these last couple of weeks and they are 18-30's reps, and so far, its been a week of stress and hardwork rather than partying etc.

Listen to your dad.. seriously I want to go back.. it was easier (in some ways) and much more fun... I remember people saying to me to enjoy my time at school as its the best time of your life and once you've left, you'll want to go back and it is so true - I really miss my school days. Life was so much easier back then.

I hated college this year and that reason was the teacher...if i go back its for another two years and that same teacher is not doing first year no more shes doing the next level up (which will be us) i dont think i can take another two years :rotfl:

yeah I tend not to watch club reps because the directers add drama to it its a tv rule to make it seem like theyre treated unfairly etc...

by doing this im living life to the full so when im older I can always look back and say ive done it

Last year when i left school i wanted to get a qualification in IT and get an IT based job but now ive done a year of College i just wanna get a job now and never go back but dad says once i get a job ill wanna be back at college. well if the job has prospects its ok but if its just a scivvy in a shop theres no reason why you cant work weekends and days your not at college and do college as well because its always good to have something to fall back on

well to be honest I think everyone will have that-regardless of what they have achived

you being a mum will be the thing you will always fondly look back on and I bet any money seeing your kids grow up etc will be the best thing you can wish for if thats goes to plan you wont have any regrets

unless of course when you was 18 a buisness tycoon who was a multi-millionaire offered to sign you up to a contract worth a million and you said sorry im washing my hair tonight:lol:

I would like to go to University and join a adult Brass Band that competes on a top seat not principle or anything like that a front row cornet. I also think becomming an instructer for a year before i go to university would be good but i personally dont think im good enough or could handle the responsability.

i have one realistic ambition and one ridiciulous ambition

the ridiculous ambition is to become a scriptwriter for film or tv, but there is no way that will happen

the realisitc ambition is to buy and run a guest house in Torbay, Devon. The simple life all the way for me, Devon is the best place, and would be a superb place to settle down and start a family. Maybe sounds boring, but im a boring person and will be happy with a boring comfortable life. Just need the moolah to buy a guest house!

I've love to do something either in the Media, like in Newspapers more. I wouldn't like to travel around a lot to do it, just for a local paper or magazine or something. Either that, or do Law, which could be done anywhere in the country, really.

Then i'd love to just settle down somewhere, get married (To a northener :D Well, someone from further north than London, with more of a northern accent than me! I have a thing about northen accents..... :D ) and have a couple of children. Then maybe do part-time work for a while or something. I dont want to live in London all of my life (Although, it looks like i wont be able to afford it anyway!!). I want to move out of London to somewhere more quiet, but not totally dead either, as i need my mates and, of course, lots of shopping too!

well ive had loads of different career ideas when i was younger: a childrens author, a childrens presenter, a vet, a teacher, a zoo keeper, a dancer, i think there were more but cant remember them now! now i want to go to uni and get a performing arts degree, and then would love to become an actress, or more realistically some other job in the performing arts industry

well that was on the job side, on the personal/family side, when i was younger i used to want to marry an american for some reason lol and have 4 kids! now id like at least 2 kids and to get married, to a millionaire would be preferable lol!

Mmmmm.... not sure I have one, think I have always been lacking in ambition (well thats what my teachers at school use to say!). Im very laid back in that I tend to go with the flow....... some might call it lazy! lol

After uni (and somehow doing quite well with the old degree, despite never attending a morning lecture) I difted and fell into my job (in education) actually was offered the job, didn't apply for it.

Though as Im getting older, can see that I need to be careful and not let life pass me by. Maybe I should now have more of a focus on my life, rather than ambition. Though I have to say im pretty content with my life at the moment, so thats the main thing, I guess.

Think Im like this to rebel abit cause Ive got an older brother is the opposite to me, he is very driven and has a successful business to his name. Then I guess if you have your own business you need to be like that, cause the buck stops with you!

Thats for sure - if my hubby and I didn't work hard with our business, and ensure its success then we could lose everything, including our house, so you have to put your head down and get on with it for sure.

I think your teacher sounds like a prat and really wrong to say you didnt have the brain power to do the job (this wasnt the one you.....know, from the cringe thread?!). Bet you would be more than capable!

im not sure, i know you need to be a certain height though, maybe you need to be able to speak another language? quite a lot of them usually do. you could look on a careers website, thatd probably be able to tell you

The applicant for the post of Air Hostess/Steward is required to have a good secondary education and to have obtained at least Grade D in five Lower Level subjects in the Leaving Certificate or its equivalent. Knowledge of at least one Continental language is an advantage.

Previous medical training or experience of dealing with the public is an advantage. Ideally, applicants should be in the twenty to twenty-four age group.

Dont know whether thats any use. The heights an issue to.

I have another ambition as well which is more of a goal for the next year, to helm a boat like take control as all im doing at the minute is crewing which is like the second in command

My dream is to write for Eastenders or work in the production team like executive producer or scriptwriter etc. Another one of my dreams is to get my fictionial soap, Hinston High the next most talked about soap in the country and make it big on the television and make it as famous as Eastenders is now but how likely would that be of happening.

My realistic ambition is to become a journalist and hopefully i will make it. I want to be a tv journalist/reporter so fingers crossed!

I think you should try it making hinston high a national treasure I think you should start off by making it a book novel
if you write a book you could get it published and if its good enough it could be a big seller I promise you alot of people will buy if from here daveywaveyand with any luck it could be made into a tv show...how many things on tv are 'based on' storys

if we can convince the 7000 plus people in here to buy it...thats a start :)

It took me 4 years to get my level 2 sailing qualification.

For journalism you can take all different courses at unis but they are quite competative so doing lots of things like the newspaper is a good start to put on your personal statement when the time comes. It usually requires about BBB or ABB in your A Levels. (It could be higher or lower depemding on where you want to study).
