i think they should have designated sites they can go to. the majority of them are fine and respect where they stay it is the few that does not respect where they stay that give them a bad name. i think they are fine and have the right to choose the way they live thier lives.

we have some where we live and our village is trying hard to get them out etc.they are rude, thieve from all the local shops and wee/poo in alleyways, outside shops etc.i know you cant tar them all with the same brush but this is what this lot by me are like.the police have also been up there several times and found guns, this is a very peaceful and quiet village im talking about here so its very disturbing.

I don't like to sterotype, but whenever they come around these parts the crime rate shoots up.

I agree with Willow, i think that they hsould be given a chance, because although i guess a large majority of them aren't good, some are. They have kids, and they proberly dont understand why people seem to dis like them

Having said that, we had gypseys near to us a few weeks back, and they went around every field and released the horses. A few were killed by the traffic on the M40, and i think that is completly out of order

I think that you need to distinguish between Romany Gypses who have a long tradition going back hundreds of years, and who BTW were persecuted by the Nazis in WW2; and social drop out travelling people who show no respect for people, property, law etc.

For anyone to behave in the way that Chance describes is appaling. And I don't think that they should be allowed to squat and destroy other peoples property.

Likewise there should be enough Council run sites that they have somewhere to go, and noone wants one of these near their home....

actually theres a closed down campsite next to where i live, and theres been quite a few gypsies coming and going, and they dont do anything wrong. Yeah, they can be anoying that theres always people walking about around my street and stuff, but they never leave a mess once they leave and the gypsy kids are reakky sweet and play with my little brother and sisters!

Where I live in a small town in Wales we have had similar problems they leave a terrible mess when they are moved on, steal from lots of the shops are quite rude and often dirty. One gypsy boy who actually spat through my friends car window for no reason. I feel sorry for the children as their behaviour only reflects their up bringing. When i was working I felt sorry for a child of about 10 who came in with the gypsies and couldn't count the amount of money he was trying to give me for a packet of crisips however when I went home and told my mother about this she said not to worry because gypsies survive even when the crows don't
