At this moment in time Emmerdale is in a terrible state and it doesn't look like getting any better any time soon. The programme has more problems than enough.
1. The programme being broadcast six times a week is overkill. Two episodes a week is ample.
2. The cast is far too big. Three quarters of the cast want axing. For a programme who only had eight regular cast members to start with, when it was entitled Emmerdale Farm, has now gone from the sublime to the bloody ridiculous.
3. It needs some of the old bosses, scriptwriters and characters e.g. Kim Tate and Kathy Bates on board again to get it back on track.
4. There are far too many kids in the show.
5. The stupid pantomime storylines and characters are ruining the programme, just like Coronation Street is been ruined for the same reason.
The big disaster type storylines in Emmerdale are so OTT and most of the time the majority of the storylines are far fetched and don't ring true at all. The only trouble is because they have got such a big cast at present, they need a big disaster again to wipe out three quarters of the cast.
