What a shambles Coronation Street is

At this moment in time Coronation Street is in a terrible state and it doesn't look like getting any better any time soon. The programme has more problems than enough.

1. It is on far too much and the number of episodes broadcast a week need cutting back to two.

2. The cast is far too big and needs to be split in two.

3. It needs some of the old bosses, scriptwriters and characters on board again to get it back on track.

4. There are far too many kids in the show.

5. The stupid pantomime storylines and characters are ruining the programme. You do realise Coronation Street is supposed to be a soap opera, not a sitcom. Soap operas are supposed to be serious, but not totally depressing though.

The one thing that annoys me the most though is that two parter on a Monday night. It always ends on a cliffhanger to make damn sure the viewers comeback and it is such a big let down. When they first introduced that two parter on a Monday night, it was only for special occasions, but now it is a regular thing, it has taken its toll on the programme. The storylines are terrible and are just padded out. There is no proper story told and the stories go absolutely nowhere. Even worse on two occasions if I remember rightly, Coronation Street was shown three times in one night, one of which was when Mad Maya blew up all of Dev's shops. ITV have relied on Coronation Street too much in the last ten years and it is now looking a very tired old show.

Not all soaps are good all the time. I quite like the Kids in it as they add some humour. I dont really think that it is the number of episodes its the amount of Storylines. THey seem to drag on alot, if they moved quicker i reckon that it would be better. I think it was only showed Three times in one night was because there was a sporting event meaning they could not show an episode ion the Wednesday leading to three being shown on the monday.

thats alot of characters that you want axed! You can't get rid of Chesney and Cilla as although Cilla is extremely annoying, they cring alot of humour to the show! Plus you said they should bring back old characters and Ashley, Fred and the Croppers and exactly new characters yet you want them axed! I agree about axing Dev though
