Heya
Here are the latest spoilers:
Wednesday 5th July
An early morning phone call from James Tennant (NEIL STUKE) leads DI Neil Manson (ANDREW LANCEL) into the woods, where James claims to have found a sign of his daughter’s whereabouts. He has employed a medium who now claims she has seen the little girl appearing in a vision. Neil empathises with the father’s feelings and reluctantly tries to take the psychic’s visions of the girl in the woods seriously. They find a doll in the forest, which used to belong to the missing girl. But video footage of James’s house, taken when the daughter first went missing, shows the doll at the house. So, Neil and Stuart set out to investigate who visited the house since the daughter disappeared, leading to a gas meter reader. As James’s expectations of the medium’s premonitions grow, Neil is under pressure to deliver an explanation to back up his scepticism. The pressure mounts as the psychic knows that Neil is set to find the person who may have taken the doll from the house and leaving it in the woods.
DC Suzie Sim (WENDY KWEH) and her Trainee DC Kezia Walker (CAT SIMMONS) get involved with another rape case, which is reported at the station. The investigation moves slowly as the girl - a repeat victim of rape – initially finds it too difficult to talk about what happened. Things turn bad for PC Tony Stamp (GRAHAM COLE) when the victim comes to the station and identifies him as the man who raped her. Tony finally has to come clean about his night job as a cab driver, and the station looks on in disbelief as he gets nicked by Sergeant Smithy (ALEX WALKINSHAW). To his detriment, Tony’s whereabouts at the time of the crime cannot be proved by CCTV footage. Will Kezia manage to persuade the victim that she needs her to talk and jog her memory about last night’s events if the rapist is to be stopped once and for all?
As the team sticks together to find the serial rapist before another victim is added to the list, Suzie drops a bombshell and confesses to Neil that she has applied for a job at another nick. As it turns out, the young and determined DC is not the only person at Sun Hill who is set to climb up the career ladder. Suddenly there is fierce competition between Suzie and DS Stuart Turner (DOUG RAO), for the same job.
Thursday 6th July
The investigation into the series of rapes gets back underway with a firmed up profile of the rapist: the target is an illegal mini cab driver. A failed decoy operation in which Trainee DC Kezia Walker’s (CAT SIMMONS) aimed to nick a mini cab driver outside a nightclub puts Sun Hill back to square one. A new lead is offered by one of the previous victims who agrees to take a phone call from the rapist to try and bring up evidence. At the same time, PC Tony Stamp (GRAHAM COLE), who has now come clean about his cabbying, investigates his fellow cabbies. Tony finally loses his street cred with his colleagues, as he delivers the evidence and arrests prime suspect Keith Durante (WAYNE FOSKETT). As more information comes together, little seems left for the suspect to get away. But even though the team is hot on his heels, have they got all it takes to wrap the case and send Keith down?
Meanwhile, PC Emma Keane (MELANIE GUTTERIDGE) and PC Will Fletcher (GARY LUCY) have to deal with a mother who fears that her teenage daughter is a victim of serious bullying at school. The PCs are just getting used to working together again after Emma recently finished their romantic involvement. They go to the school to investigate and are met with pubescent rebellion, but their professional instincts lead them in the right direction. Has the mother’s engagement ring really been a genuine present to the teenage girl’s friend?
Overconfident in his demeanour, DS Stuart Turner (DOUG RAO) has not been popular at the station as he boldly grabbed the lead in the investigation into the rape cases. Who will be more popular when the phone call comes revealing who has got the post at the kidnap unit; Suzie or Stuart?
Later that night at the pub, Emma works hard at manoeuvring her relationship with Matt (MARK DEXTER) back into calm waters but over a potential career move, Matt puts Emma emotionally on the spot. Will, now a good friend finds this hard to witness.
Meanwhile, after some differences between Smithy (ALEX WALKINSHAW) and Kezia during the day, the two coppers get these out of their way, as Kezia makes a bold move…
Sergeant June Ackland (TRUDIE GOODWIN) moves her relationship with Rod Jessop (RICHARD HOPE) onto the next level as she confesses that she has been raped and struggles to accept the intimacy that is developing between the two of them.
