I can't believe it has been that long.. she is a part of the funiture now and has had some amazing stories particularly knocking that girl over and Janine "killing" Laura

By my calculations she is the longest serving character who was not in it from the start (Dot had a break of course in the 90s).

20 years! :eek: I didn't realise she has been in it for that long! Pat is a legendary character and needs to be used a lot more. I hope she stays in Eastenders for another 20 years! :)

I feel sorry for the character. She's been there that long and rarely gets a decent storyline or even a mention these days.

I agree she hasn't been in it for a while, but I think they've given her an opportunity by adding some of the Wicks family into the fold.

I really love her character. She's nice to everyone, and always non judgemental. She's made a lot of mistakes herself, and she always has a heart for the person who is hated by everyone else. Whether they've had an affair, or killed somebody, they can always go to Pat for suport! lol.

At first they were an opportunity for her, but because she's never involved in anything concerning them, so it's like they're not there as far as the character of Pat is concerned.

I think Pat is the original TART WITH A HEART... remember how quick she was hiding Phil when he was on the run?? She is always for the ones who have been "wronged" .
Can some one tell me why Grant HATED Pat ??? I guess whatever happened between those two must have been before I started watching EE..
I love Pat,, shes terrific, and I do think she deserves a better story line than trying to prove she can still PULL at her age.....:searchme:

Pauline and Ian have been in it from the beginning. Ian was a teenager back then, while in the first episode Pauline discovered she was pregnant with Martin. Dot was referred to from the beginning but didn't turn up until a few months after the show started. Sharon was also there from day 1 - like Ian as a teenager, but of course she hasn't been in it on a regular basis since 1995.

A true Eastenders Legend! One of the few characters I truelly care for on the show. She deserves some stoylines.
