What a day Im having!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I promised yonks ago, whilst rather under the influence, my mate that I would do the flower arrangements for the tables at her wedding reception.

Now, I blame her for agreeing to let me do it (she was sloshed at the time too), cause I have no experience of doing anything with flowers other than pulling the wrapper off a bunch and plonking them in a vase!

Anyway last week I had a bash and made quite a decent job of it! Was very proud and starting to feel a bit smug that this was going to be a breeze!! lol

Sooo.... the wedding is tomorrow and I have been working on the flower arrangements all day, and what a disaster!!! I have 5 to do and the first 2 look okayish, but the remaining three are crap!! The venue for the wedding is really posh too, so didnt think they would accept them on their premises!!!!!

Then I had a bright idea! I'll go to a proper florist!!! So just been to the posh florist on the high street and oh my God, this experience has hit me hard in the pocket!!!! Its cost me a shade over a 100 squid to get these flower decorations made up!!!! A very costly **** up, but I couldnt do much else, its for a mate's wedding!! Collecting them at 4.30pm and running them over to the venue.

Now should I pretend Im amazing at flower arranging or confess up?! And Ive missed my hair dresser appoint, so going to look a right mess at the wedding and I cant decide which dress to wear. I hate weddings!!:crying:

I could have told you that...you plum!!!! you should have done that straight away

Well the woman in the shop, after her and her assistants had stopped ******* themselves with laughter... recommended white roses. You see my mate, wanted loads of green stuff and white flowers to keep it simple cause the room is very grand!

But I for my crappy arrangements was using white carnations, but this posh florist turned her nose up at them, and said they dont sell carnations!!! Im feeling a little green myself at the mo. Taking deep breaths.

 Yellow pages, now why didnt I think of that several hours ago!

Oh I just have to see what these flowers the posh florist does look like. If my mate hates them (after all the trouble Ive gone too), then she will be in hospital the night before the wedding having white roses surgically removed from her backside!!!!

How many more posts do you need?

Im heading down the gym in a bit too. Though with all the stress have had a fag or two (havent smoked since uni, and then only the occasional fag when stressed or on a night out) so will be weezing whilst pounding on the tread mill no doubt.

Just collected and took the flower arrangements to the bride to be - she burst out crying on me!!! Thought for a min that she either hates them or has changed her mind about getting hitched. Thankfully neither.

Phew...... she loved them!!:D

Im so happy and relieved! Though I wont live it down for ages, once it gets out tomorrow!!!!

How easy is it to remove self tan, got til tomorrow morning, so not panicking yet! lol Just used spray tan stuff (Nivea) and am now painfully slowly turning a satsuma colour, at this rate I shall be changing my user name to Pauline Fowler!

Got a wedding tomorrow and just praying that its very dark in the church, otherwise when I walk in it will look like a sunset has desended upon the place. I glow more than the kid in the ready brek advert (if anyone remember that). Please help.

Oh a part from this have had a pretty stressful day. Going to live on a deserted island nxt week to get away from flower arranging and self tanning problems.

Yesterday I had so much fun! Me and two mates went to Manchester and went to Manchester Museum and the Whitworth Art Gallery. We had great fun apart from being followed around the Art Gallery  It makes me angry that Young people can't be treated like adults. We were walking around peacefully not causing problems but we still got followed around.

Katy
23-07-2006, 11:38
The museum and the Art gallery are actually really good arent they. I went with my dad a few weeks back and thought it would be highly boring but i really enjoyed myself. Do they still have the cows dotted around the place. I couldnt believe that i had never been before as you just never bother going in to places like that when you live here.

Tori
23-07-2006, 11:45
No, they don't. That was just for a summer a few years ago... I think it was in 2003. One of my mates had never been to either before and I was so surprised! I find that you never go to what's nearby so this summer, my mum is taking us around all the local museuems... it'll be something to do!

Katy
23-07-2006, 11:47
I never really did understand why the cows were there. Glad there gone, they were quite scary. hehe. I havent been to that Staircase place yet in Stockport is it the new museum on local history and ive never been to the hat museum so that could be a day out.

Tori
23-07-2006, 11:56
The cows were there as part of a world wide thing, and the cows were decorated by manchester people then sold at an auction for chairty.

For us, it will be:
Imperial war mueseum north
Hat Mueseum
Staircase thing
and anywhere else that is free!
We wanted to go to Sheffield but it's £25 on the train, and it cost less to go to nottingham that time! so that's a no go!

I want to go to Birmingham, I love it there. And are traffic surveys compulsory because I don't wanna spend my summer next year doing those!!

Katy
23-07-2006, 17:41
no the traffic surveys are not compulsary you choose a hypothesis to work on and mines all about a commuter settlement. I like Salford Quays to, the only disadvantage is its like home to Manchester united football ground. Eugh. I have been to the lowry to see a few times and i have plated in concert a few times. Usually you can pick up some bargains there. As for birmingham i can think of better things to do as my family always take the rise out of my accent.

I looked on Toby’ (the turtle’s name bless) has the number on it.. So I rang their bell several times and no one was on so I gave it to their neighbour and she told me she always looks after Toby and he’s 93!! Awwwwww :D

Do you get compo for that, at the very least it sounds like you should get danger money for doing your job. Dear me, and I moan about having to do a bit of harmless paper work.

Spend all morning puitting labels on trays. I feel like i have lost the will to live. Then once i finished that mum made me cut out letters and back walls in colourful paper. Teaching is definalty off my list of career options. had a picnic as well which was fun and i was so chilled out o completley forgot a new issue of inside soap came out today so i will have to buy that first thing in the morning. I like my routine.

No you could go into teaching, you just need some plebs to drag along to your classroom to do the menial tasks (I think thats why teachers have children). My mum and dad were both teachers and I use to get dragged into both schools along with my brother. Which when you have just broken up for the summer hols is the last place you want to be! LOL

i know i nearly strangled her this morning when my dear mother told me thats what she had planned. I also forgot to mention the tray labels sh evolenteered me to do for her friend the year 3 teacher. As if doing her odd jobs wasnt bad enough the cheek to send me to other teachers. I nearly screamed. I was planning on having a morning on SB catching up with posts.

My Brother went into intensive care in the early hours of last night-motorbike crash so despite only getting in from work and going to bed I got up and I waited up all night by the phone speaking to my mum etc...I didnt fancy going to london either.

He's ok now but he's asked to stay with me for a bit and I said he could stay with me for a while,So he should come on friday -with my mum for the weekend
which is a good thing because I cant tell you how much I hate coming in late at night and no ones in,

My 7 year old daughter is abandoning her mother tomorrow for a week. I got a phone call on Wednesday night from her school friends mum, saying that they were going to Grisedale forest park in the Lake district for a week this weekend and asked if Marley would like to go. So I have been running about like a headless chicken the last two days as I had to go and buy her some holiday clothes plus the schools up here in Scotland go back in just three weeks so I had to go and get her new clothes for school as well. If all else fails, my advice is to look into temping - gives you experience and a lot of companies employ people on a temp to perm basis as that way they can evaluate your working skills prior to employing you, without doing anything illegal.

Had a top day shopping (a favourite hobby of mine, and one I excel at) at the metrocentre (up N'castle way) and bagged loads of stuff for my hols!!

I went totally mental in (one of my favourite shops) Lush and bought up loads of stuff in the shop including bath bombs/shower jelly/face cream/lip balms/face mask etc....

So Im a happy, and squeaky clean (though much poorer) bunny!! :D

My day!! ok....awful

My brother is a disgusting pig!! he is so messy, he leaves his clothes everywhere,he has eat and drunk EVERYTHING in my fridge, walks round wearing hardly anything which is embarrsing because he answers the door like it.

after a arguement I threw a glass at him because he wound me up with his lazy attitude (he cant be bothered getting a job just yet so he cant pay rent) so he decides to take my friend to a dodgy night club that I told him not to go to theres fights there all the time its notorious for it and he goes in his condition (just had a motorbike crash). I wont mention what he's done to the oven.
No wonder my mum dont want him

I have spent all day yesterday and today cleaning up for him things like decorating his new rooms spending hard earned money go unnoticed, dont get me wrong he isnt a horrible person -a really nice person(at times) yet so slob-ish after one day!!.

I love it in there all the stuff is specially made isnt it. I always spend loads. Yesterday went to Manchester and was very proud as i was able to find the cinema without getting lots which makes a change. Saw the break up which i thought was really good, but im never taking my mum anywhere again as she started crying.

Hey guys. I haven't posted on here in ages. Got back from the hospital about 3 hours ago after having my plaster cast removed. The doctor has told me to keep on the crutches for a while longer, just as support. It feels so weird not having a cast around my leg any more. Keeping it as a memory of my accident as all my friends have signed it. Spent the rest of the day at home, on the phone and reading our english book for GCSE.

If your feeling drousy and tired and want lots of water- those are usually some symptoms because my auntie has diabetes.

I have had a good few days...i stayed over my mates house last night and staying over there again tonight as our mate just came back from holiday so we thought we would have another one so we don't leave him out. :)

Im having quite a good morning, the morning after the night before....may have had a fair bit to drink last night...but it was great catching up with some old mates.

Though I could have done without an 'early visit' from a friend at around 7am this morning!!!!! Who couldnt wait to tell me all about her hols and the chap she met there!

So after that rude wake up call, decided to go for a jog, good idea in theory, but in reality... what was I thinking?! Thankfully a family friend was driving passed, and, I must have looked totally cream crackered cause he stopped and gave me a lift home!

Anyway, after a nice long shower, feel fighting fit again! So going off to a cracking little coffee shop in a while to 'do lunch' with a friend.

Feel like Ive done a whole day already...and it only 11.30! lol

I had a good day today...i went to a festival type thing where loads of different bands performed and my favourite band performed there! whoo!!

My favourite song by my favourite band kinda got wrecked though because they hired a singer to scream throughout the whole song..and everyone was taking the mick out of him and chucking stuff at the band...it did ruin my favourite song, i liked it the way it was written originally without the screaming but i think the screaming throughout the song isn't permanent but just an experiment to see what people think, they are still my favourite band though!

The other bands that performed were ok, i went with my friends and it was really good. :)

we had a staff conference today, we have one every year at the begining of term were we have motivation speakers who try and help you improve your lifestyle and reduce stress. One of the guest speakers today was a man called Jamie Andrews. Some of you might not know of him but Jamie is from Edinburgh and was a mountaineer. In 1999 Jamie and his best friend also called Jamie (Fisher) were on holiday in the french alps to climb one of the mountains. The climb was to last two or three days but as they reached the top of the mountain they were hit by bad snow storms and were left stranded there for 5 days. Sadly Jamie Fisher lost his life on the mountain but Jamie Andrews survived. Tragically Jamie had to have both his hands and feet amputed due to severe frostbite. In the 7 years since the accident Jamie has not only learned to adapt to living a normal life but he has returned to mountaineering by climbing Kilamanjaro, run the London Marathon and skydiving. He is also the proud father of three wonderful children. His presentation lasted over an hour where he spoke about the emotions he has went through since that day. He truly was an inspiration and I sat and listening with tears streaming down my face. It really puts life into prospectus when we all moan about the trival things in life.

OMG Scotland was so good, it was so peaceful and the scenery was loverly. We were on a boat going down the caledonian canal and we sailed on Loch Ness. I still cant believ i sailed on loch ness even though my bodys still feeling physical. It got a little hairy when the fog came over and we could nt see where we going. It was fun all the same. The drive back was long though even though we stayed over the night in Falkirk at the travel Lodge. There was no electricity or anything so i had no TV so ive been reading inside soap to keep me up to date.

I think i heard about Jamie Andrews. All those things heve done are a real inspiration to those living with disabilitys after accidents.

Had a really good day yesterday it was my dads birthday so we went to 'Man City stadium on the tour and in the museum, it was really good. In the museum there was like video clips and artifacts such as Richard Dunnes size 11 football boots and clips of all the goals we have scored against out loverly neighbours United. In the stadium we saw the press conference room and the dressing room i sat in Samaras and Dunes changing area it took a while to sink in. Then we walked down the tunnell, it was a really good day. Then on the way out i bought my ticket for tomorrow game, they d best win but i cant see it happening somehow.

Today watched four episodes of shameless series 2 had a shower and fell asleep. A very prioductive day if i say so myself.

It's to do with timetabling issues... something which they seem not to have noticed!couldn't believe it when they said... it's taken like a year to work this out!

Well they are trying to work somethuing out because all along I have said I want to do that, and that was on the offer they gave me, so not honouring that, for them is a huge problem and they want to know how it happened

I was supposed to be having people round tonight to sort out my mates surprise party but they all phoned to say they couldn't (6 people!) so some are coming tonight instead. I just went to stockport but it was so wet, and why is it that when you have money there's nothing to spend it on? I saw a top i wanted but they didn't have my size :(

Well i've started back at school. I started back last tuesday lol right after i flew back home from plymouth but the stupid flight was delayed and i was shattered and decided i didn't want to go to school on tuesday didn't work mind you. Then i snapped at everyone imaginable as i was so tired. Then thursday i ended up in tears in french yet again because kari -ann was being mean! i mean what is it with me am i really that easy to pick on? :(
And now every teacher keeps on saying how long it is till the prelims then the exams and it's starting to annoy me now!! so really i don't like school very much but as i'm 15 on sunday i am looking forward to that and i'm going out tomorrow with my best friend now that is good to make up for a semi - good week lol:p

That looks like an essay:p

never been so huingover in my life as i was this morning. Serves me right for drinking when i had to do my coursework survey in the morning at 8 counting cars. I really am never drinking again. Then this afternoon i wanted to curl up and die and instead i have been mending and cleaning boats. The fresh air has made me a hell of alot better though.

Total rubbish, having a bad day at work, and then the boss comes along i think oh poo what have i done wrong now, but no, my dad has phoned to say that my Gran has died. So I'm not feeling to great, i'm really happy for her as she is no longer in any pain, but feeling a bit sad as i was really close to her and i'm really going to miss her.
