On the BBC website there's conformation of the showings of EE next week. There's no episodes on Monday or Tuesday, and there's hour episodes on Thursday (7.30-8.30) and Friday (8-9). Obviously due to the World Cup.

People probably already know, but I just thought it was worth mentioning.

That remark might land you in hot water! lol.

But you don't have to miss EE because of it so that's some compensation. I don't mind football, it's o.k. The World Cup only happens every 4 years, I feel like it's a person's duty to watch it.

Yeah that's right. I think it's better in a way to have 2 1 hour episodes. Somtimes your disappointed when it goes off at a cliffhanger. But this will give us a chance to see more. And the Bradley and Stacey stuff is starting next week!

Yeah, if it's boring it can be agony! But hopefully it won't be. Have you read the spoilers for that week? It looks alright. As I said includes Bradley and Stacey, which I like.

Friday's episode looks better actually, Thursday's seems like a bit of a yawnfest!

Thanks for posting as I didn't know this. :) I doubt the BBC would ever put the world cup on BBC3/4, as alot of people still don't have digital plus the money the BBC must have forked out for the rights, there is no way they'd put the games on any of their digital channels.

I think they might in 2007 when digital tv becomes necessary for all channels.

i thought it was in 8 years time that digital tv became compulsory for everyone? but when that happens it wont matter what channel its on seeing as everyone will have that channel, but i still think it might be on bbc1 cos its like a main thing and thats their main channel if you get what i mean

Me neither, Debs. They waste enough time moving all the soaps around for what I see as 'random' matches. If they absolutely have to show football on a terrestrial channel, then why not limit it to the world cup.

di marco
06-06-2006, 20:28
I don't think that would be such a bad thing.

yeh it would, i like watching it. i dont see what everyones problem with it is myself, it only happens once every 4 years and its not like youre missing out on ee you get to see the same amount of epis each week

Katy

They still clash with the football, Sorry but ill watch the football over EE. The world cup is time to see WORLD CLASS players like Ronaldo and Eto'o that you dont see each week, and You can always catch repeats of EE the world cups live.

06-06-2006, 20:49
I would watch football over EE!! It only happens every 4 years and everyone will be talking about it. You would.. well I would.. want to know how the team(s) did!! We are still going to see EE in a 2 bundle's on 1 hour episodes so I'm as happy I can be :p :D

If they move that due to the football they usually show it on BBC2 on the Sunday, or split it into 2 and you have to change channels to see all of it.

the tv mag says that, but then it has an alternative schedule underneath which says that ee will be on at 7pm on friday if bbc decide to show the world cup match, but at the time of going to print, cos the quarterfinal teams werent known, it wasnt known which channel would show it

I think this is the last week of disruption for EE, as next week the WC reached its closing stages, so there will be less games.

I think it returns to normal next week. :)

If it isn't the end of the confusion next week, it will be the week after. I don't see the point in changing the time every night, I don't understand why they can't just put all the matches that don't concern England on digital channels, they'd obviously have less of an audience share in this country.

Richie_lecturer
26-06-2006, 21:32
While the England games are by far the most popular, many of the other games are proving huge ratings winners still. A few matches not involving England have still picked up over half the audience! Even the other games have mostly had ratings that are at least competitive with the soap audiences right now. Therefore it makes huge sense for the BBC/ITV to show them on terrestrial TV, whether you like it or not.

i agree, just cos some people dont like footie, if the matches were put on a digital channel it would be unfair on the people that wanted to watch them that dont have digital. its not like youre missing out on ee, the same amount of epis are shown, and i just check ceefax each day to see what time its on, simple!
