Singer Mariah Carey received the first ever “Celebrity Legs of a Goddess” title in New York yesterday.
The title - awarded by Gillette Venus razors - means that Mimi was immortalised by a 16ft statue of her famous pins.
The statue was unveiled in a presentation at the Radio City Music Hall in New York during the launch of the fourth annual search for the Best Legs in America.
The search for America’s perfect pins will take place across America at selected dates of Mariah’s upcoming tour.
“Mariah was our hands-down choice for the first Venus ‘Celebrity Legs of a Goddess’ title” said a Gillette Venus spokesperson. “She has gorgeous legs, and she radiates the inner beauty and confidence that embodies the brand.”
Never one to underestimate her potential, Mariah has since insured her legs for $1 billion (about £555 million) with a source telling the Mirror, “The sum reflects her popularity.”
While at the unveiling ceremony, Mariah fielded questions about her recent weight loss and toning up and revealed her dieting secrets.
“When I’m being lazy with my normal diet,” she told Radio 1, “I do my very own ‘morsel’ diet. You can eat whatever you want but only a morsel of it, like a fork full.”
