SHAMED Micheal Barrymore is finally set to make his TV comeback - in a big bucks gameshow.
Bosses have approached the former ITV1 star to take it or leave it - it's answer to channel 4's deal or no deal.
The 30 part quickfire series on Challenge TV will test two couples gambling for cash prizes up to £100,000.
It's a world away from Barrymore's high profile ITV1 shows, such as strike it lucky.
But close pals insist he is "keen" to sign up. One said: "He's over the moon someone finally has had faith in him."
"He's been waiting to get back on TV for ages but so far no one has given him a chance."
"He has been approached and is extremely keen to do it and will probably sign up any day now."
Troubled Barrymore, 53, returned to our screens earlier this year on c4's celebrity big brother. He had fled Britain in 2003 for a new life in New Zealand with partner Shaun Davis, 30, after Stuart Lubbock, 31, drowned in his swimming pool.
TV Biz revealed Barrymore was house-hunting in England last month in preparation for a full time return. If he takes up the Challenge TV job, he will spend the summer recording with producer TWI.
The show is already a hit around the world, where it is produced by Endemol, the company behind Big Brother and deal or no deal.
