Just reading a magazine and came across this little bit

Bringing up Baby - with scientology

1) mother and baby must be separated for the first few days of the childs life.

2) A newborn must not be washed for 24 hours after birth and must drink barley water rather than the mothers milk.

3) Children should not be comforted when they are ill. instead parents perform 'touch assist' - prodding the child with one finger until they feel better.

4) At just four or five days old babies start attending church for auditing - to counsel them on scientology rules

5) children are usually educated at scientology approved schools where scientology members teach.

Poor mother and baby.. how can they do that? seperate a mother and child and not allow it to be feed properly... Barley water???? that is not going to fill the child...

Gentle prod with your finger!!! I will do some gentle prodding if my partner suggested that.. I will gentle prod my foot up his ass until he felt better.. A baby needs a cuddle not a poke

I have never heard so much tripe (not the word I'd like to use) in all my life. How on earth is barley water better for a new born baby than its mother's milk or baby milk. And what normal person would give a child a poke with a finger when they are unwell. Its a natural instinct whether your a parent or not to comfort a child. As for poking them with a finger I hope Katie remembers that rule when Tom is unwell and looking for her to wait on him hand and food I hope she pooks him with something a lot bigger and sharper than her finger

what rediculous rules! Especially about prodding the poor child when they are ill - I'm sure that will make them feel better!lol
Also I can't imagine in anyway that Barley wateris better than the mother's milk, for starters it can't be as filling for the baby
