Brian Kennedy is doing the Irish song. We might win again, we hope not, but we are about due it again!!! Can't believe Micky Joe Hart did so badly.. it was the only Euro song I really like from Ireland

i love the dress sense of some of them. England are never going to win, i find it laughable that it got through to be honest. There was a big fuss when he was signing at HMV so obviously someone likes Daz.

I find there is a good year for songs then a bad year. I think last year was a bad year, hence a boring programme, so hopefully this year might be reasonable.

My kids like to stay up and watch and we get party nibbles in, although my daughter has not, yet, managed to stay awake through the voting.

There may be some "political" voting going on, but I think that despite this, it is always the best song which actually wins.

I have some of the songs and they arent that bad. The irish on is quite good, you should hear some of the people who didnt qualify its hilarious.

I found it funny when the Greek presenters came on in Peter Pan style. That's why we love Eurovision - because of the ott presenters and performers. Apart from Daz ofcourse. He's the only normal one there.

DAZ has to be the worst UK entry of all time what a plonker:sick:

Emmak2005

I didn't think we would win again this year. Daz is ok, but I don't think the rest of Europe are into his style of music. It's not camp and cheesy enough for them! We're on 23 at the moment and Finland have got well into 130 points already.

Richie_lecturer
20-05-2006, 23:02
..and that mad Finnish rock group have won this year's competition.

No surprise really?

Emmak2005
20-05-2006, 23:02
Oh well Finland win. And we lose yet again. I'm surprised with how the point scoring worked out this year. I thought Daz deserved a lot more. Still he doesn't need to hang his head in shame he has achieved other things and successes elsewhere - like in Bus Stop & United Nations, etc. I think this year's winner is **** - still if you like heavy metal then each to their own I suppose.

Daz Sampson 20th/24 - at least he didn't come last!

britian and a couple of other countries automatically qualify because they help to fund it.

we got 3 more points than we did last year aswell.

i liked latvia and the one about grass and shoes... they were funny! daz was good, but no- one actually likes that kind of music apart from us. go for something like they have in the baltic areas and we may well do well for once! still better then 0 from the other year though!

crazygirl
21-05-2006, 11:37
we are not very liked at the moment are we! so the uk result didn't come to a shock! its very political is the eurovision its very unfair and it shouldnt be!
but its always been like that

Bryan

here's a suggestion - they dont show the names of each country when the song is performed, that way people vote for the song and not the country!

Tori
22-05-2006, 12:06
yeah, thats a good idea. my onlu thing would be that then at the end they'd have to announce which song and which country, so it'd take even longer. also, what about the country getting the act together, people would say this is GBs act, and then people in other countries would find out?

Siobhan
22-05-2006, 12:12
does anyone have the full result, a list of all countries and what they scored.. I missed it on saturday so wondering how Ireland did!!!

it was a rubbish uk entry for the eurovision contest thats why! the song that is voted for to go through for the uk needs to be picked as a suitable winner for the contest not what teenage girls like.

It is the middle age groups who watch this and old grannies!!! that is why the freaky rock band got through cause bored rockers have nothing better to do than vote and the grans rang to complain but vote lines where all they had :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

i said that to my mum but she said it wouldnt really work cos some countries youd be able to work out, for example accent, language, what they look like etc
