Life on Mars actor Lee Ross has joined the cast of EastEnders.
Lee - who played DCI Litton in the BBC One sci-fi drama - has been cast in the role of Owen Turner. Owen is the ex-husband of Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and has had a disappointing life. It soon becomes known that Denise left him due to his heavy drinking.
Owen and Denise have one daughter, Elizabeth (Belinda Owusu), who he adores. They call her Squiggle because that is what they thought she looked like in their first scan. Owen has desperately missed his daughter and turns up in Albert Square looking for her.
Of his new role, Lee said: "I'm very happy to be joining EastEnders and I'm looking forward to working alongside the entire cast including Phil Daniels and Jake Wood whom I've worked with before."
Lee has already started filming and will appear on screen mid June
