If young people are running riot around the streets drinking, taking drugs then its up to the parents to sort out the problem. Its no good the police, courts and social workers trying to deal with them if the parents are letting them away with the crimes

Yes, it is up to the parents to instil a sense of self worth and responsibility.
But apathy among the general public lets people get away with minor crime all the time, we are on the road to perdition....
BTW, public apathy is responsible for many of the ills of our society. 36% of those eligible voted in the local elections last week. Who is to blame?

Isn't Labour supposed to be getting tough on crime and tough on the causes of crime? (said with tons of sarcasm)
Surely its a democratic right not to vote?
Poor discipline
Respect doesn't seem to be instilled into our children anymore which is extremely annoying (being polite lol)

I know really great parent but they still have one child that goes of the rails. A lot of behaviour has to do with peer pressure too.. Kids feel that they have to fit in and it that means been anti social then that is what they do
Agreed - sometimes there is nothing a parent can do for their own child. I have known children to hang around with other kids though and because their parents haven't instilled any respect etc into them, the good kids are going the other way because they think its the way to be, not "boring" and respectful. And then the previously good kids parents aren't able to do anything about it, as their child thinks its cool to be bad etc.

I believe that it is a social responsibility to vote.
So many people fought for so long to give us the rights we have, and apathy is allowing a pseudo dictatorship in by the back door.
64% of the electorate have disinfranchised themselves. What does that say about this country?

We already have it with the dear leader and Mrs Bliar. Its remarkable that a party which recieved less votes than another party can be in government. What we need is PR. In fact what we need is rid of Tony's cronies.

I'm all for PR but would you be happy with finge parties such as the BNP getting a bigger say?

discipline has got a big part to play in the anti social problems.
firstly parents dont set an example any more with good morals, respect etc.
then they dont discipline anymore and there is a...my child wouldnt do that attitude.
also people dont send their kids to bed early anymore! kids by us are out so late and this is how trouble can start.
i think it is a mixture of everything!!
