dont know if this has been posted but the monster in the jungle (besides the polar) bear well i know what it is i watched a video clip showing a new character come face to face with it in the woods, and all it is some spirit of some kind! a huge mass of black smoke that moves about deep in the forest and that is what makes all the noises and mysteriously kills people.

I think it is a mind reader thing.. I scanned both lockes and eko's mind and it didn't touch them...

yes it is but inside the smoke you can see pictures of the person it is scanning.. for example in the one where Eko mets the monster, you can see picture of him for his childhood and stuff
