DC Zain Nadir comes across previous police informant, Chez Williams, when he investigates a counterfeit perfume scam with DS Phil Hunter. Zain persuades a reluctant Chez to provide them with information about dangerous perfume being sold to the public. But, feeling guilty after what happened the last time Chez helped him with an investigation, when Chez was shot in the leg, Zain creams off some of the money they recover and gives it to him – no questions asked.

Detective Sergeants Stuart Turner and Sam Nixon continue to bond as they question husband and wife, Matthew and Elaine Gibb, about a dead man found in their house. The seemingly innocent and shocked couple claim to have no knowledge of his identity or how he died but when his wallet is found under their bed, Sam and Stuart have to dig deeper in order to find the seedy circumstances surrounding his death…

Elsewhere, PC Will Fletcher is blown out by PC Emma Keane and is chastened when she tells him that their kiss was a mistake. Later, PC Lewis Hardy tries his best to hide his delight when Emma tells him she has dumped her boyfriend, Matt. Emma explains that she is up for some fun so Lewis tries his luck by asking her out for a drink but he crashes and burns too when she decides to go out with a girl friend instead.

Also, Sam voices her fears to Stuart about being used by him and is relieved when he admits he likes her – a lot. They share a passionate kiss and leave to go on another romantic date…

MAY 18

DC Mickey Webb accompanies his friend Fern Parker to visit her daughter Charlotte at a secure unit after she hospitalised her younger sister, Holly. Still in denial, Fern admits that her violent husband, Tom, has moved back into the family home – she claims he has changed following his therapy sessions. Mickey is unimpressed when he later hears that PCs Tony Stamp and Reg Hollis are called to a domestic disturbance to find Fern covered in bruises with a split lip. Fern insists she fell over and the officers are forced to leave without pressing charges.

Meanwhile, Mickey and DC Suzie Sim are called to a bar whose owner, Carl Nash, says he has suffered countless break-ins and vandalism recently. Mickey and Suzie investigate further and pay minor celebrity and local hard man, BJ Berry, a visit. The rival bar owner admits to being annoyed at Carl for scheduling identical theme nights up against him but denies intimidating him. But when Berry’s bouncers are caught on CCTV beating Carl, cocky BJ is brought in for questioning…

Back at Sun Hill, Sergeant June Ackland is surprised to see Rod Jessop again when his son, Gareth, is arrested for throwing fire crackers. Clearly smitten on her, Rod asks June out on a date and is delighted when she agrees to meet him for a drink. But the date isn’t all she hoped for when he pours his heart out about his dead wife and unruly children. June makes her excuses saying she has to get back to the station which embarrassingly backfires when he insists on giving her a lift.

Still unsure whether she is up to the job when her son, Liam, is arrested along with Gareth Jessop, PC Laura Bryant breaks down in Inspector Gina Gold’s office and decides to hand in her notice.

Elsewhere, Met Press Officer Mia Perry tries to persuade Mickey to accompany her to her dad’s 60th birthday party and pushes for Mickey to pick her up after work. But after a long and difficult day, Mickey stands tearful Mia up.

Mickey’s day gets even worse when he is later called out to Fern’s house only to discover that she has stabbed and killed her husband, Tom. Mickey begs his hysterical and blood covered friend to drop the knife and explain what happened…

the next episode is below (no confirmed date)

It’s late and DC Mickey Webb has just arrested his friend, Fern for killing her husband, Tom Parker. DCI Jack Meadows fills DI Steph Radcliffe from MIT in about Tom’s violent history and also tells her that one of their daughters put the other into hospital recently. In a state of shock, Mickey recounts the evening’s events to Steph and writes up his statement. But when Jack and Steph interview Fern, she eventually admits that Mickey told her to say it was self-defence. Under the spotlight, Mickey assures Jack he didn’t coach Fern but Steph makes it clear that Mickey’s job could be on the line…

Met Press Officer, Mia Perry admits to Mickey that she isn’t coping with being shut out of his life and is alarmed to hear he is now under suspicion for coaching a suspect. Jack passes on Mickey’s suggestion of a drink after work but when Steph takes him up on the offer, they quickly find themselves falling into bed together. Moments later, as Steph keeps his bed warm, a concerned Mia arrives on the doorstep. A surprisingly guilt-free Mickey greets his girlfriend with a loving kiss and arranges to meet her later for dinner in a local restaurant. Will the two-timing cockney charmer get his just desserts?

Meanwhile, PCs Laura Bryant, and Leela Kapoor attempt to get to the bottom of a case where an elderly man called Harry Granger is beaten and accused of rape. And Inspector Gina Gold fails to talk Laura out of resigning but undeterred, she hatches a plan with Leela to find her a job in another department which suits a single parent.

Also, Sergeant June Ackland is stunned to receive a bouquet of white roses from romantic Rod Jessop and when he apologises for being ‘a bore’ on their first date, decides to give him a second chance. Could this be June’s chance of being happy at last?

Sad that it's only on once this week but at least it means I won't miss it on Wednesday cause of Rock Challenge finals. Also, some reason I'm in the habit of watching it late saturday night/early sunday morning on ITV3 even though watched it before. hmm, weird.
