Rob the banker

Stuart Laing joins the cast as money man Rob Minter.

A new man is set to arrive in the Square this summer
Stuart Laing has been cast to play Rob Minter. Rob's an account manager at the local bank and it’s through his job that he is introduced to the Square.
Rob meets Ian Beale through his dealings with the Walford Community Trust. He'll be heavily involved in a big storyline this summer.
Stuart said: “I am really excited about joining EastEnders and am thrilled to be working with the cast – I can’t wait to get stuck in.” Stuart has numerous film, television and theatre credits. He's appeared in Holby City, Spooks and Murphy's Law.

oh god its true then....ive heard he's a cross between tony from hollyoaks and ian beale.....oh dear im sure we're all gona love this guy

I know EE have always had few characters (compared to corrie and emmerdale Ee used to have the least) but they really don't need any more characters!

I can't keep up with all the new characters. We've now got the three Fox's coming soon, Bradley's dad, step-mum and possibly her daughters as well as Carla and SJ.

More new characters, this one sound like hes going to be a barrell of laughs! Not! If hes going to be a cross between Ian Beale and Tony Hutchinson then god help us!

Seems very interesting...just seems he will be joining as another plot device, as it said he will be involved in a big storyline this summer and this is when he is arriving.
Please we don't need any more new characters!! Concentrate on building the current characters in the show now!

Well there's no bank in Corrie, but they all have one. As do the people in EE. It doesn't really have to be within George Street or Albert Square to be their local.

Well at the moment i get the impression that he will be only staying for a few months as it seems to me that he is only being used as a plot device.

I am not sure mind, he could be staying longer, it's just my interpretation :)

in the sun, it said something about he is brought in for a certain plot but then he forms relationships with some of the other characters

Well that's good then as long as he is not being brought in for a plot device only, atleast he can interact/connect with other characters, this would probably help him stay in the show longer :)

Naomi was used as a plot device (to split up Sonia and Martin) yet she has been here for ages. Worse luck.
