Hi crazy g I'm 38 and like you when I left school we just filled in application forms for jobs. A couple of years ago when I was completing my degree at college, we got advice from the careers advisor on how to complete CV to suit you. We were advised to start with a statement about ourselves explaining our qualities, then if you have worked and in employment then you should put your jobs first then qualifications after that. But if you are more accedmic and are returning to employment after studying then you should put your qualifiacations first, then employment history, interests and hobbies. Try to keep the CV to no more than a two-page document. Good Luck

Hello i thought that i would reply to this as very recently i advertised for staff and i received lots of c.v's some of them were very good and some of them were very bad!!!

The thing to remember is that when you apply for a job make sure your c.v. is relevent to the job that you are applying for. Another thing to remember is spelling! i received a lot of c.v's with really bad spelling errors! the other common mistake is the font of a c.v. make sure it is all in the same font.
Also when writing a c.v is that you don't need to go into to much detail and brief statement is much better than a ten page c.v. as the person above me said two pages max.

One more thing to remember is the cover letter that you send with a c.v. as this is just as important as the c.v itself. As they say first impressions last.

Hope this is of some help to someone!!!! :searchme: :searchme:
