I agree! The thing is with Shannis, is that it is a great storyline and IMO have deep shared chemistry but the ever since Zoe got implicated it lost its momentum and intensity. That didn't mean that I became a lesser fan of them as even still they had that spark and mutual love there but tptb did a U-turn on the storyline and the characters in the process. It began with two scared people just looking for love and they found that in each other. They great thing was the 'family' factor which played a significant influence on their relationship and their decisions. That was the beauty of it all. However ee really botched it up when they decided to involve Zoe and make it your everyday substandard, predictable love triangle. Zonnis had as much as chemistry as Alfie and Mo and that is not a lot. The storyline was unnecessary and dragged with so much repetition.

EE went from Sharon and Dennis's love VS Den to 8 months of Sharon/Dennis/Zoe drivel. I t really couldn't get any more predictable if they tried and the storyline was supposed to 'spice' things up. Did it heck! It was a turn off. I really do like Sharon and Dennis and both character/Actors have alot of potential but the storyline did nothing for them and I can see why viewers felt turned off. I know I did. Firstly Sharon is a strong independent business woman who relies on herself in order to maintain survival. That’s how I have always seen her but then as a soon as daddy Den pops his clogs she reverts to the teenager that she once was and as for Dennis, he became Den's lost little boy. I suppose in there defence that was largely to do with having a father figure back in their lives and in Dennis's case, for the first time. However I didn't like the transformation in either, especially Sharon who is better than that and her character is worth more. Now however, with Den gone let’s hope that Sharon and Dennis both have the quality resorted which they both had before Den came out of the grave. They were far more independent and head strong back then. I'm personally really looking forward to seeing them both. I never thought that they got the chance they deserved and they are worthy of being happy.

There return can open up so many doors for their characters. Personally I would love to see them face their issues head on now. They are very complex and have lots of baggage. Issues of abandonment still persist and there’s a lot on unresolved feelings there, namely Dennis's past. I just can’t imagine him confiding in any one apart from Sharon. They have a momentous and meaningful connection. I would think that he would trust her enough to confide in her and he is indeed very comfortable around Sharon. I'm not going to let one bad storyline put of my enjoyment for Sharon and Dennis. That was the past and I’ll put Sharon/Dennis/Zoe down as a mistake. Hopefully ee have learned from that. I have never sopped being a fan of these two and I’m not about to start now. I'm interested to see what ee have lined up for them actually. I have no doubt that they’ll be short on ideas on these two as they are both character driven and led complex lives. It would be great if they covered a surrogacy storyline for Sharon and Dennis. As far as I'm aware they have never done one before so it would be really original and a real eye opener of what couples have to go through.

Again Alisha hit the nail on the head great insight? one think i didnt like about this particular storyline was the fact that it was about three people instead of two the family factor was great :) i didnt like it when it came down to a choice from dennis part like their was any competition

Dennis and sharon were crazy about eachother they were soul mates and then they put zoe into it like she was threat and dennis couldnt decide who he loved they made it a choice but in actual fact their wasnt any choice he alreay new :angry: i think this was poor writing and lack of understanding :)

Poor writing and lack of character consistency really contributed to the pessimistic side to their story and that made it visibly obvious to the viewing audience. After all we are their viewers and if a storyline loses its spirit, strength and trait to all characters, we'll detect it. It was such a disappointment for tptb to assume that we could be fobbed of with the love triangle and be happy with that. As if anyone would buy it. I certainly didn't and neither did many I spoke too. This is one of the main reasons why people said that they liked it to begin with but then it dragged on and they got bored. I can see why they did considering what he were given. Den was the contributory factor between them, not Zoe. I would have preferred to see they stand up to him and face their concerns as a pair but as a substitute we got 'who should I be with?' for months on end. What a disappointment. Firstly I hated Dennis to-ing and fro-ing between Sharon and Zoe. Everyone knew that he loved Sharon so why all the confusion for 8 months. Dennis was up and down like a yo-yo I didn't know where he was coming or going, lol It could have been avoided but ee milked it out for all that it was worth.

However the good thing is that we wont have that when they return because there will be no more Zoe and Den trying to dictate their lives and making Dennis look like a lost chicken. Hopefully they can be together and get on with it. About time too. Cant' wait :)
