Shelleys final fling

We don’t like the sound of this one, not one little bit. The Daily Star says that Coronation Street barmaid Shelley Unwin will leave Weatherfield after a final fling with evil ex-love Charlie Stubbs. The paper reckons that Shelley (played by Sally Lindsay) will fall prey to the bad-boy builder's charm once more. An insider told the paper: "Shelley thought she'd got rid of Charlie for good but he's going to worm his way back into her life. Charlie wants revenge and eventually Shelley gets so desperate she decides to leave to escape him." Sally was wishing for a much happier ending and hoping funny man pal Peter Kay would make a final appearance as drayman Eric Gartside to sweep Shelley off her feet.

Well if its in The Star it mut be true. I would have preferred the Peter Kay ending

that's a rubbish ending. it suggests that Shelly didn't learn anything from her first time round with Charlie, and that she has to run away for her home to be free of him. bring back Eric the drayman i say!

that is quite a stupid ending i would think her ending would be that she wants to go away to start a fresh.

maybe it'll be the other way around and she'll do it as a revenge thing to him. let tracey catch them or something although i'm not sure that would really bother charlie.

Inside Soap suggest that Charlie and Shelley aren't finished yet so who knows what will happen with them.

No way and The Star since when have they told anything truthfull on soaps last year they said that in Eastenders nana moon would die in a fire. Whats next Eric Potts and Emily bishop have a passionate fling.

It says in the inside soap mag that before shelley leaves she will have an encounter with charlie and that could play a big part in her plans...

What a rubbish exit! I would have liked her to have a more happier ending or maybe getting her revenge on Charlie before she left. Maybe going to pay him last one visit on a building site, where she pushes Charlie off some scaffolding etc, and Fred and Bev help her get away. That would have been a better ending in my opinion than the dire one she has been given.

I think that she should just get away to start a fresh or be swept off her feet by a handsome newcomer and leave to be with him it should have nothing to do with Charlie as that would go back on everything that has happened to the character since she walked out on Charlie at their wedding.
Interesting how Tracy would react to him going back to Shelley though.

Yeah it would be very interesting to see Tracy's reaction to Charlie going back to Shelley. I wonder if Charlie would dump Tracy by then though or maybe he just cheats on Tracy with Shelley anyway.

It sounds a very rubbish storyline to me, as said above she carnt have learnt anything the first time round

Shelley is starting to feel that the Rovers is not big enough for her, Fred and Bev. She tells Betty that she has come to decision and plans to leave Weatherfield for good.

Me too, I think they needed to have Shelley there for Bev to come back and eventually take Fred off somewhere or be involved in Fred's exit.

Don't know about you, but if that was their theory I could forgive them - just this once!
