DOG MAN IN AXE HELL

A MAN suffered horrific injuries when he was attacked with a meat cleaver after asking two dog owners to stop their animals biting him.

The 35-year-old lost three fingers and had his left arm almost severed.

The two men set the Great Dane and Staffordshire Bull Terrier on him and attacked him after he shouted at them.

Police are looking for two black men in their 20s after the attack in Hammersmith, West London.

Should animals like in this case be destroyed?

No i dont think they should afterall i think they should be given another chance and be taken off their owners to be trained, as i think its down to their owners and the way that they have trained them it should be them who get blamed

in this case no, cos it was the owners fault, they told the dogs to attack the man then attacked him themselves

im unsure really, but its not right for an animal to cause harm. I think that destroying them is a bit to dramatic but some action should be taken against the owner.

I dont think they should cause harm either, but in the end the owner didtn trian them properly

yep but think about it, the owners caused the dogs actions because if the way they have trained it or treated it

well once dogs attack once the have the taste of it and most do it again, as much as i love animals if i had a dog that had bitten before id be wary of who id let it near as say there is a baby or something you wouldnt want the dog to touch them as they would do a lot of damage to a baby as they have done to adults but i dont know whether i would put them down or not
i know a dog who was put down because it killed sheep and the farmer said dont worry having it put down but they owners didnt want to have the dog do it to a human

i think if a dog had attacked me or my family im sure we would not be saying lets give the lovely dog another chance!! no I disagree, every dog should be given a chance, in this case they attacked because they did as they were told. But each case should be taken on merit, My last german shepherd bite some one, why because this guy was in my back garden and she protected me, so should she have been put down, no if he hadnt entered my back garden,he wouldn't have been bitten.she never bit any one while we were out,or when children pulled her tail. we tend to forget that dogs like us have a off day,or a headache that can make a loving dog snappy.

Certainly in this case the dogs should not be put down as they were told to attack the man they did not do it without being told to so it is the owners fault. In other cases im not sure if some like in hazeys case enterd her back garden i do not think the animal should be put down but if it is just a random attack for no reason the is more of a reason to get it put down but it may have been the way the owner raised it and so technically it is the owners fault.I think it really depends on each case.

yeah cassie a dog i look after who is my dads mate bit someone at there work as they entered there office and she knew people werent ment to be in there and the man who she bit understodd as he realised he shouldnt have been in there so if they have a reason to do it then they shouldnt be put down but if they just bite someone in an agressive way then they shouldnt be allowed

In the Netherlands they do destroy them, especially when a child is involved. They reckon that if a dog does it once they will repeat it.

I think all cases should be looked at individually etc but if it were my child a dog had bit id ask for it to be destroyed im sure, and i am a dog owner of 6!

yes i say no the shouldnt be put down, not in evey case, as the owners are the ones that make them aggressive.
I say put down the horrible owners of he dogs.

Depends on each case I think, and any history of attacking that the animal may have. But in this case no.

I voted yes. If a dog attacks for any reason, chances are, they will do it again.

All cases should be looked at in their own merit, but IMO, once the dog has a taste for blood, it is very difficult for the clock to be turned back and that taste will will always remain - if any of my family was attacked by a dog, I'd want the dog destroyed.

No, I don't think they should be. Humans get a second chance at alot of things, why shouldn't animals?

We also treat animals far better than humans though - if our pets are dying and are in extreme pain, we end their suffering, shame we don't allow people with terrible illnesses who wish to end their own suffering the same choices though - my question is: if your children were mauled by a dog, to the point where your childs face was no longer recognisable or where your child had to have months of surgery to repair the damage caused, would you feel the same way???
