Hi, I just thought i would tell you that i heard that Love Island will be back on ITV1 again this summer and apparently this year it will be going head to head with Big Brother. Also it's not being called Celebrity Love Island, it's going to be called Love Island.
I heard a rumour that this year's series will be extended to 11 weeks but i doubt this is true, as ITV1 are planning all different reality shows to face Big Brother in the ratings over the 13 weeks that Big Brother is on.
Personally, I hate Love Island and i will definetly be watching Big Brother this year.
Anyhow, i just thought i would let you know :)

Well maybe they've finally realised that the people they get on these programmes aren't actual celebrities, but random people who had 5 minutes of fame 30 years ago

I heard they are having some members from failed boyband Phixx on the new series. I tried watching Love Island last year but just found it so boring with the boys trying to chat up the girls and vice versa.

any news on who's in it? the format isn't up to much, but if they can get some good people in it then it might be worth watching...

I have heard some members from failed boyband Phixx will be joining and i have heard some others but forgot. If you go on DS, it might tell you more there :)

No matter who's on there, i definetly won't be watching, i did find the format pretty dire last year.

Well i haven't heard any women going to Love Island this year. Maybe that's the show's twist to try and gain viewers

Read this in The Sun today...
Some lucky members of the public will be able to go to this year's Love Island. This year's series will have a mix of celebrities and members of the public. This is a twist for this year's show.
Source: TV Biz- The Sun
Not sure if this will pull in viewing figures and it doesn't seem much of a good twist.
Anyway i thought i would just let you guys know what i heard :)

Exactly. She isn't technically a celebrity and she's already been on a reality show so why would she want to go on another one

Abi Titmuss is to be the new presenter for the new series of Love Island. I would prefer Jayne i think her Patrick Kielty would have a good chemistry.

I love the fact that every single one of them (except Jessie Wallace's sister who I've never heard of) have already been on a reality show before and for the majority of them the reality show is the reason that they are famous in the first place

Fearne Cotton has been confirmed as Patrick Kielty's new co-host for the upcoming series of Love Island.

The former kids' TV presenter replaces Kelly Brook, who was reportedly axed last year because of tensions with Kielty.

"I was hooked on the last series so am really excited that I’m going to be packing up my flip flops and setting off to the sun," said Cotton. "This time round I won't just be gossiping about the show with my mates, but the whole country."

The new series is expected to begin around mid-July.

Former Coronation Street star Nikki Sanderson is the latest celebrity to be announced for The X Factor: Battle of the Stars.

The actress, who played hairdresser Candice Stowe for five years, joins Page 3 girl Michelle Marsh in the 16-24s category.

Other previously announced acts include Chris Moyles (over 25s), Gillian McKeith (over 25s), Paul Daniels & Debbie McGee (groups), and Lucy Benjamin (over 25s).

“Taking part on this show is a mile apart from my normal acting jobs," said Sanderson. "There won’t be the opportunity to re-take any fluffed lines and I’ll only get one shot each night to prove myself.”

The three remaining acts will be announced later this week in advance of the show's premiere next Monday.
