Just another of my absurd ideas. At drama we had to make up sketches where we were shoes, and it's actually a really good way of making up characters. Just match a personality to the style of your shoe! So I thought I'd put it literally, so you know what I'm talking about :D
This is just a one-parter, by the way :p
The sound of the front door being closed rings out through the house. There is a moment of silence, then from the cupboard next to he front door there comes a voice.
Voice: Are they gone?
Another voice: Pinky! Sshhhh!
Pause
Voice: Yeah, I think they're definately gone. Turn on the lights Manny.
There is a shuffling sound, something climbs onto a box and leans against a switch. A dull light fills the cupboard, coming from a bulb hanging from the ceiling.
Inside the cupboard there are only shoes.
But the shoes are talking.
Pinky: (A fluffy boot) I knew they were gone
Jock: (A battered trainer) Oh shut up! We can never be too careful! I've been here long enough to know. We've had some close shaves before.
A group of flat girly shoes with different assortments of sequin patterns are huddled in the corner.
Blaze: (A pink sparkly flat girly shoe) I'm boiling. We never get out of here.
Lila: (Another flat girly shoe - multicoloured) Yeah. Naomi only wears Stardust now.
Stardust: (A black and silver kitten heel, huffing in the corner) Well, she's not wearing me now.
Pierce: (A shiny black shoe) Please, girls, I can barely hear myself think.
Jock: I'm sure there are more important things in the world than Naomi and Stardust or whatever.
Stardust: Yeah Lila, you fat cow
Moira: (A red welly) Girls! I'm sure Naomi likes all of you. It's me that's had my time. No one wears me any more.
Joss: (A strikingly clean white sneaker) Well, can you blame them? (He drawls smugly)
Moira: And that's enough from you too.
Pierce: Kids, please, can you just keep it down? some of us are trying to meditate.
Pinky: Huh?
Frosty: (A white flat girly shoe) He's trying to attain a "pure state of mind"
Blaze: Pure my ass
Stardust: You don't even have one of those honey
Moira: Language girls!
Jock: You tell them. If Greg was still around...
Joss: Yeah, we know, he would give us a good kick under the heel. But he isn't here, is he?
Pinky: Nope. There you go Jockyboy. Going to give us a kick yourself then?
Jock advances on Pinky, she cowers back into Frosty, Blaze and Lila. they push her back.
Stardust: Ooh, scared?
Pinky: (Mumbled) He said he'd kick me
The sound of keys in the door
Moira: Uhoh, sounds like they've forgotten something.
Pierce: It shouldn't sound like anything. SILENCE!
Moira twitches the light switch. the lights go out, just in time for the door to open and someone to enter the house.
