Hi everyone just wrote this last night and have just put some finishing touches to it let me know what you think I really appriciate all your replies
This is for my lovely best friend Helen your a star babes :cheer:
Every day found us together but no-one knew of fate's design, just as we begun to really live our dreams life ran out of time
The laughter and noise rang round the hollow cell, there was never silence and there was never peace on E Wing, turning over once again unable to sleep Chrissie’s eyes fell upon the letter still scrunched up in her hand, if you wanted to keep something in this place you never let it go and this letter was more precious by the day it was what kept her alive, it was what kept her here
Staring at the familiar writing, smiling as she saw how the two t’s in Watt’s
matched perfectly
Gently opening the envelope with her bitten and worn nails she pulled out the letter and slowly she read it again hoping it would help her sleep, the tears began to fall and Chrissie realised that no amount of reading would help her she was still imprisoned for the next twelve years or so but a girl could dream, a girl needed a dream in this place, without a dream you’d lose it, without a dream the reality of having nothing would as good as kill you
Every moment shared was worth it, memories only I can claim though it hurts so much
It helps me understand, no-one ever loves in vain
Breakfast is over and it’s off to work, Chrissie panics, the letter, a sick feeling rises from the pit of her stomach and slowly she places her hand in her pocket and breathes a sigh of relief, it was still there, she still had it, and she would never let it go
As another day passes and night time arrives again, Chrissie knows the cycle only too well, there are no dates or months or weeks in this place, only night time, work and plenty of days that soon add up to years
Putting her hand under her pillow Chrissie found her well hidden photo, the only one of them together, as a couple, she ran her finger over his face trying desperately to remember everything, the things he said, the things he did, the way he touched her and held her, the way he loved her
Chrissie bit her lip trying desperately to fight the tears but it was no use they just kept on coming
What we had showed me the power of a very special friend, our amazing bond we formed while you were here well that will never end
Standing in the showers, the hustle and bustle of getting ready for the day ahead was just a blur around her, it was funny how quickly she had got into a routine and it was amazing how soon she learnt how to play the system, who to piss off, who to keep onside
Letting the water run over her already ageing skin Chrissie savoured every last second in the showers, this was her time to reflect
After dressing she sat down on the bench and slowly dried her hair humming the song playing on the radio before heading back to her cell, her reality
Sitting upon her bed, she sighed, this was her life now and the letter was all she had left from her former life, clutching it tight in her fist, this meant everything to her, it was her lifeline
Sometimes I feel like I am so lonely and that's when I know that everything's changed
Yet through the tears I smile and say I'm so glad you came
No-one ever loves in vain
