Do you think EE are over compensating by bringing in so many new characters? As far as I know there's only 4 people leaving EE (Little Mo, Juley, Demi and Rosie), so strictly speaking they should only be bringing in around that amount of people to bring the numbers up to what they were. Obviously we need good drama in a soap, but I think it's easier to do that when you can keep track of all the characters. It's ridiculous how many characters they are adding to existing families.
It's fair enough to expand but now it's like with every family, the Brannings (loving Bradley, but not really the point), the Wicks, can't really mention others because they are spoilers, but it does seem to be getting to the point where we are getting introduced to too many people at the same time.

ye o think they are doing this because ratings arnt so good at the moment (will change next week though:)) so they are bringing in all these new characters to boost ratings but i dont think its working bradleys the only new character ive really warmed to so far and bringing in other characters wont help!
We did lose Kat, Alfie, Dennis and Sharon too though, so in that respect we would be possibly looking at 8 new replacements, but I think the speed in which the new characters have been introduced has paved way for some all over the place episodes...

Yeah, I didn't really think about Kat and the others. It's a new year, so I tend to forget about them, when I'm thinking about characters leaving.
You know what I've just thought of a whole bunch more characters who have left last year. I seem to remember a bit of a cull going on. Even though most of them left on their own accord.
Lets see so we had; Kat, Alfie, Dennis, Sharon, Chrissie, Sam, Zoe and Nana Moon leaving late last year, and then we are having Little Mo, Juley, Rosie and Demi going later this year. I suppose when I think about it, it does make more sense bringing in so many new characters. Although Sharon's coming back.
I went on the EE website, I count the official total to be, after next week, 42. Then in say September it will be 38, discluding the new characters coming into it. So maybe it won't be too many. Although it is still quite a lot.
I think the way in which they have been introduced hasn't been very well done - storylines have been all over the place, trying to make sense of the new characters and could have been handled a lot better.

Yes it could have done. I love Bradley, but the introduction wasn't the best. We'd never heard Jim mention him before he was coming to stay at his house. Although the same happened when Stacey first came into it. Relatives just pop up out of the blue.
Then there's Deano and his family, I don't understand that situation. Why would Pat have her ex-husband's family stay with her. It was ages ago since Pat was married to Brian. Did he die making her a widower? because if he did maybe I could understand, but if they just split up, and she went on to have 3? other marriages, it's quite unusual.

I think that is just Pat, she still has Ricky come over and stays in touch with him and he is not her son at all.. So having her ex-husbands kids is nothing new to Pat at all

That's a good point. I think we find it strange because we never actually saw Brian (well I didn't, I don't think he was ever in it, was he?!) And of course Frank was the love of her life, so Pat being close to his children was quite understandable. She brought them up for years when Frank left.
She is one of those mother hen types, I think. Warm and cuddly, somebody you'd like to have as your grandmother.
