DCs Zain Nadir and Terry Perkins are pleased when DS Stuart Turner lets them bend the rules in order to proceed with an investigation into the beating of suspected paedophile, Leo Cross. Stuart ensures he covers his back with DCI Jack Meadows but neither Zain nor Terry realise he is only out for himself. Terry soon discovers that Cross is not listed on any of the sex-offenders registers – but is it just a case of mistaken identity?

DI Neil Manson and DS Phil Hunter work on a case which looks as though it could fall apart when hot shot solicitor Heather Lees starts to pick holes in their investigation. Whilst interviewing her client and prime suspect, Michael Hassan, Heather and Phil continually clash until the interview is stopped. Will Phil be tempted to use his charm and good looks to smooth the way and get a result?

Sergeant Smith realises that ex-con Morris Leatherhead is institutionalised and is heartbroken when Morris begs to be arrested and sent back to prison for criminal damage after trashing a local kebab shop just days after his release.

After continually clashing with his brother Phil, PC Steve Hunter is distraught when Phil is pleased after hearing Steve has applied for transfer back to Derbyshire. An emotional drive home sees Steve attacked by two motor-bikers who smash his car window, douse him in petrol and light a match. Is Phil about to regret his recent quarrel with his brother?

PCs Dan Casper and Tony Stamp investigate a horrific hit and run, leading them to a local taxi firm. Tony instantly recognises owner, Kevin Sampson, who is an old friend and when he is arrested for drink driving, Tony is determined to help him all he can. Having to deal with his personal problems also, Tony loses his patience with his father for calling him out to the nursing home after his whisky is confiscated. Tony eventually decides to swallow his pride and accepts a job as a cabbie to help pay for his father’s care home.

DS Phil Hunter is stunned to hear that his brother, PC Steve Hunter, has called in sick after being attacked the night before. After throwing another insult at his brother, Phil takes a statement from him and when he receives a video text of the attack, Phil ends up making the investigation more about him than his brother. Saddened Steve asks Phil if he wants him to stay in Sun Hill but when Phil can’t answer, Steve realises he’s not wanted and pushes his transfer though.

Fractious Phil tries to hide his jealousy when DS Sam Nixon teams up with DS Stuart Turner to investigate fraudster, Stephen Bayliss. Phil notices how tactile and flirty they are with each other and clearly make a good team. Could Phil’s jealously be professional or more of a personal affair?

When PC Will Fletcher winds Dan up over his conquest of PC Honey Harman, Dan tells her that Will only slept with her to get a bed for the night. At the pub, Honey takes great pleasure in pouring a pint in Will’s lap much to the rest of the teams’ amusement suggesting that their relationship could be dead in the water.

These spoilers sound really good. Ha ha Will! I am glad Honey pours a drink all over him. I guess in these episodes this is Steve's exit storyline. Plenty of crime going on as well which is always good! :)
