My internet keeps signing off after about 5 minutes even though the server still has a connection. Does any one know why it would be doing this, its really annoying me.

does this happen all the time or only when you have been on a while and then it starts?

does it have a timeout, like if you aren't using the internet it goes off?

no, its everytime i sign on. I have to type really quick before it goes again. I think i need to phone the computer man again.

mine used to do that, but then we changed to connections

My friend's used to do that, their prolem was with the free modem. Did your modem come free with your internet package?

Mine does that, but if its left for about 4 hours, without being used. Its one of the settings, that i just haven't bothered to change. I think you should have some kind of cut off time, because that will stop virus's getting in so easily, but 5 minutes is ridicuous. Try looking through your internet connection settings, and see if thats just the default time.
