View Full Version : Sun Hill - The Bill
Speculation has been rife over the last few weeks about two more actors leaving the Bill.
In addition to those we already know it now seems that the worlds worst acting Sergeant Yvonne ''Bowling Ball'' Hemingway is to depart Sun Hill :cheer: along with Adam Okaro. Further details about their leaving storylines will be available soon
awww actually quite like Yvonne, she's grown on me. Not too fussed about the loss of Okaro though

i actually like Yvonne although i think that since other pc's like Kerry and Andrea have lmoved on and they ended her romance with that nurse she has been really underused
i love this pair of characters... yvonne is someone who intitally you would have been glad to see the back of, but she grew on me and i became quite fond of her character... and adam has been an integral part of the show for so long... still would be intresting who replaces him as top dog...

Jack for Superintendent! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:Whilst I woul;d love to see it I cant see him fitting in with the touchy feely politically correct new Diversified Metropolitain Police. Jack is a good old fashioned theif taker. The will probably have to make the new Super and unmarried single mother IC3, blind in one eye, deaf, bisexual, in a wheelchair and a card carryin member of amnesty international oh yes and a drinking buddy of Cherie Bliar

what? There won't be any actors left at this rate... i mean... since october we've seen more departures than in the past. ,Maybe when Adam leaves Jack could become Super... Neil for DI then Sam can regain her rightful position as DI leaving a space for Suzie as a DS...see, i've got it all worked out... What do you think?
I don't really want Okaro to go, especially if they have a terrible replacement like Amander Bloody Prosser, she was a complete a-hole. How the hell did she become a superintendent? I mean, come on, she doesn't have half a brain cell let alone a full one! No offence to the actress though, just the character!

Good theory but as we know from the spoilers Suzie is not going to be the new DS

SUPT CYRIL QUITS BILL
By Brian Roberts
ACTOR Cyril Nri is quitting The Bill after four years.
Cyril, right, who plays Sun Hill favourite Supt Adam Okaro, will be last seen on screen in the summer.
And Michelle Austin - Sgt Yvonne Hemingway - will leave around a month later. ITV1 said: "They are incredibly popular people  and they will be sadly missed by all those who work with them. It was just that they felt it was time to do different things."
Viewers were gripped watching Supt Okaro crack-up after his wife and children died in a car crash.
Cyril, 44, has said he may direct a project in his home country Nigeria.

yeah i think she is after shes had time of with her baby
Shame that Yvonne and Adam are leaving as I'm really liking these characters. Mind you I did wonder about Adam Thursday when Gina and him were talking about the Borough Commanders Job.
I then thought perhaps Gina would take the Super Job and maybe Smithy would then become inspector (of course that is if he gets out of jail)
I have to admit I prefer to keep Smithy and Gina at their current ranks.

Well it's getting to a point where it's all daft anyway, I will miss Adam, Jack Meadows will likely get the position which is fine, but for the love of God not Neil as DCI, he does my head in as it is, how many have gone now? too many.

Yvonne has now filmed her final scenes, so at a guess she should be off our screens by late October/ November.
Also Kim Tiddy is definatly also leaving the bill, however she is still currently filming at the moment.

D.C. Jacob Banks (Patrick Robinson) is tasked with encouraging widow Trudy Vincent (Pippa Haywood) to visit her husbands murderer in prison, in order to trace his missing teenage daughter.
Guest starring Pippa Haywood as Trudy Vincent.
D.C.’s Jacob Banks (Patrick Robinson) and Mickey Webb (Chris Simmons) work together to investigate the disappearance of 15 year old Saskia Fuller (Jessica Woods). They discover that Saskia has recently been in touch with her father, Eamonn (Tony Maudsley), who was imprisoned 13 years ago for murder, but is due for release. Eamonn was an alcoholic who, after a heavy drinking session, beat Paul Vincent to death for no reason and couldn’t recall the attack the following morning. Following all lines of enquiry, Banksy questions Paul’s widow, Trudy (Pippa Haywood) who is still bitter about her husband’s death and refuses to help the police in any way. Frustrated, Banksy visits Eamonn in prison to tell him his daughter is missing. Eamonn is horrified and tells the D.C. that Saskia has recently been visiting him and confessed that she had a new boyfriend, Rick. Eamonn hands over Saskia’s letters to Banksy in the hope they hold clues and begs him to find his daughter. As the investigation continues, Mickey and Banksy discover Saskia’s boyfriend ‘Rick’ to be Richard Vincent (Cary Crankson) – Trudy’s son. Has he kidnapped the teenager in order to avenge his father’s murder…?
Banksy updates Trudy who is stunned that Richard is now the main suspect and is terrified she will lose a son as well as a husband. She agrees to help by going to the station and calling Richard, begging him to turn himself in, but Richard simply hangs up. The officers grow more concerned that he is planning to hurt Saskia and decide that Trudy is still the best person to convince Richard otherwise. Banksy is tasked with asking Trudy to visit Eamonn - if she can somehow come to terms with what happened to Paul, perhaps she can convince Richard to do the same. Trudy reluctantly goes to the prison with Banksy but is repulsed by the thought of seeing Eamonn again. When the pair finally meet, the atmosphere is thick with tension and as Eamonn begins to offer some kind of an apology Trudy snaps and launches herself at him. Banksy jumps in to pull her away, but is more concerned than ever that they may never find Saskia…
Meanwhile, uniform, questioning the wisdom of introducing Trudie to her husband's killer, scour the streets for the missing girl. As tensions build between uniform and CID they spot Richard and a frantic foot chase ensues. To their frustration, Richard escapes, and they re-double their efforts. Later that day, Richard is finally arrested. In the interview room, Banksy uses all of his skills to try and persuade Richard, who is still grief-stricken and angry, to reveal Saskia’s whereabouts. Will he confess, or is it too late for him and for Saskia?

Ah yes, thank you, alan. I remember them now.
Didn't uniformed policemen and women used to appear in an excellent police drama called "The Bill"? I wonder what happened to it. Do you think it might be revived one day?

I doubt it, they have already moved the show in Scotland to a different day and tv channel. And the way they are losing viewers does not help and of course the opinion of those wanting more uniform rather than CID does not seem to count with the producers or else they would have taken notice a long time ago.

Ah yes those were the days. Unless some TV luvvie at Talkback Thames realises that they are not capable of writing the gritty drama that they are trying to copy then I fear that the UKs top Cop Show has gone the way of Z Cars, Dixon of Dock Green, Softly Softly, Holby Blues et al.

As far as I know the Scottish Television channels stoped showing The Bil in favour of local programmes. It is only available now through a Sky Box or Virgin Media by viewing an English channel

Yeah they did Alan. Scottish television stopped receiving the Bill when they moved to the new format. There's a dispute between stv and itv about the cost to show the series. I haven't watch the bill since the change over as I can't remember what day or cable channel it's on.
Do you get ITV3 in Scotland? The Bill is being repeated on Monday nights on there.

I'll have to ask Graham about this.
I have been watching all the old episodes of The Bill daily on Drama. Apart from a few characters and the odd outlandish storyline it really was a fabulous progrmme. I would welcome it back on our screens just provided the PC mob don't get involved in writing the scripts for it.

I spoke to Graham today. He said it is all still up in the air. The idea has been pitched to ITV but there are "still a lot of hoops to go through" and it is by no means a certainty but he is hopeful.....
