Hi,
I've been reading loads of the scripts on here and i really like them so I've been inspired to write my own. It's my first one so I appologise if it's no good!
It's about Sam and Phil from the Bill.
Chapter One
Phil miserably put down the phone. It was great to hear his little girl’s voice again but it broke his heart every time he had to say good bye to her. He wished he could see Madison more often but Christine and Maddy had moved away so he had to live with the odd phone conversation at the moment.
“Right guys can you gather round please.” DCI Meadows had just come in to brief them all for the day ahead. Phil would have to put Maddy to the back of his mind for now.
“Mickie and Zain, could you get you selves down to the Cole estate please. There have reports of a shooting but I’m afraid little else is known. PC Hunter and PC Valantine are down there at the moment taking statements.”
“Guv,” replied Zain and Mickie.
“Sam, Jo, we’ve just received a call from someone who lives in the Nashgrove estate. He’s worried as his wife didn’t come home last night. It’s probably nothing but I need you two to pop round and check it out anyway.”
Sam and Jo nodded, “Guv.”
“Right that’s it for now. Thanks everyone.” Jack returned to his office.
Great that means paper work for me then thought Phil glumly.
“Hey Sam,” he grabbed her arm just as she was heading out, “you and Jo need any help?”
“Don’t worry we’re fine,” she replied.
“Are you sure?” Phil pleaded; he’d do anything to get out of paperwork.
“Seriously Phil, the guy’s probably just being paranoid anyway. Bet his wife just stayed at a friends or something. Now you just sit here and have fun with all your paperwork.”
And with that she gave him a cheeky grin and left.
“Thanks!” Phil shouted after sarcastically.
I'll post the next chapter soon, any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Chapter Two
Sam and Jo arrived back at the station and headed up to CID. They’d spoken to the guy who’d phoned the station earlier, Mr Harrington, and the poor man still seemed really worried about his wife. Apparently she had never stayed away over night since they’d been together and they’d been married for 5 years. Sam and Jo had promised that they would do everything that they could to locate her.
As they walked into CID Sam couldn’t help but let out a small laugh as she spotted Phil slumped across his desk looking absolutely bored stiff. She couldn’t help but feel sorry for him, especially since she’d heard him on the phone to Maddison earlier and knew how sad it made him that he couldn’t spend more time with her, especially with Alfie gone as well.
“Sarg, Sarg you listening?”
“Yeah sorry Jo.”
“I was just saying that if it’s all right with you, I’ll go phone all of Lisa Harrington’s friends, from the phone book that her husband gave us. See if any of them know anything.”
“Sure that’s fine. Especially try and contact her friend Emma Mills as that’s who Mr Harrington said she was out with last night.”
“Will do, I’ll let you know if I find out anything,” replied Jo and she wondered off to her desk.
Sam walked over to Phil, who had barley moved, and perched herself on the corner of his desk.
“Alright?” she asked, even though she pretty much knew the answer.
“Never better,” he replied, the sarcasm in his voice obvious.
“Over heard you talking to Maddison earlier, how is she?” Sam asked.
“She’s great, sounds so much more grown up every time I speak to her.”
Sam gave him a sympathetic smile.
“Anyway...” said Phil trying to change the subject, “how was your morning?”
“Not bad, this guy seems really worried about his wife though.”
“She’ll probably turn up later absolutely fine.”
“Yeah, probably. Well now I’ve got the thrilling job of sifting through hours of CCTV footage to try and trace her whereabouts last night.”
Phil jumped up eagerly, “I’d be happy to lend you a hand if you want.”
“Alright,” agreed Sam, “it would be nice to have some company. But are you sure the DCI won’t mind?”
“I’ll just go clear it with him but I’m sure he’ll be fine about it as I have been doing this paper work all morning!”
“OK, I’ll see you in a minute,” said Sam.
Oooo I love this. Can't wait for more. There can never be enough Sam and Phil stories. Well done, great chapters.
Chicken's right, the more sam/phil stories the better. I love reading and writing them, I'm excited about this one too. I doubted that it was gonna be a Sam and Phil story so I read the small summary type thing and was like: YAY!! Sam and Phil! Sam and Phil! lol
Can't wait for an update, please do it soon. *sweet smile* (sorry say do that alot)
P-L-E-A-S-E!!!!!!!!
Yeah please please update really soon, this is a great story so far :D:D
Chapter Three
“So where’s the footage, that we’re actually looking at, from then?” asked Phil.
“Varsity night club,” replied Sam, “it’s where Mr Harrington believed his wife intended to go last night. Jo and I called round there this morning but no one remembers actually seeing her. However with so many faces in the club, there’s not much chance of that any way so the manager has given us all of their CCTV videos from last night.”
“How many cameras do they have?”
“6, one outside each of the toilets, one by the door, one by the cloakroom, one by the bar and another on the dance floor.”
“So this could well take a while then?”
Sam nodded, “you know you don’t have to help if you don’t want to,” she said, secretly hoping Phil would still want to stay as the job would go along a lot quicker if she had a friend to do it with.
“I’m staying, I said I’d help and I will,” he assured her, “anyway how could I deny you the pleasure of my company now when I’ve already got your hopes up by promising you.”
“Well there is that of course,” Sam said sarcastically with a smile.
They started to watch the videos. Phil was asking Sam for her opinion in his ideas for birthday presents for Maddy so the time went past fairly quickly.
Phil and Sam had been watching the footage for about an hour when there was a knock at the door.
“Come in,” said Sam.
“Sam, I’ve spoken to Lisa’s friend Emma Mills and she didn’t see Lisa at all last night,” Jo told her, “Apparently they never had any plans to meet up.”
“I wonder why she lied to her husband,” Sam wondered.
“Maybe she was meeting another guy,” Phil suggested.
“Yeah, maybe. Have you been able to get hold of any of her other friends, Jo,” Sam asked.
“I’m about half way through the address book. Nothing of any help so far,” Jo replied.
“Alright are you alright carrying on with that for now? Phil and I haven’t found anything from the CCTV footage yet but we’ll keep going.”
“Serg,” Jo nodded and headed out of the door.
“Sam, how about we pay a visit to Emma Mills. Even though she wasn’t with Lisa last night, she might still be able to suggest where Lisa may have gone,” Phil suggested.
“Alright, yeah, suppose she might know whether or not Lisa is having an affair,” Sam agreed, “we’ll have to see if there’s any uniform who might be able to continue looking at this footage. Although I think its probably unlikely she’ll be there anyway as she lied about who she was meeting so probably lied about the place as well.”
On their way outside, Sam and Phil passed PC’s Honey Harmen and Emma Keane and asked them to look at the CCTV videos for them.
i'm not sure when i'll be able to do the next chapter as its near the end of term so i have loads of uni work to do at the moment
Oooooooo interesting. I love Phil, he's so cute and cheeky, bless his lil cotton socks, as they say.
lmao, yes he is cute and cheeky. Like a monkey! lol. Hope you don't leave it too long as I'll go crazy waiting for updates.
love the story. Hope you update soon :D
Chapter 4
Sam and Phil were driving up and down the road Tolden Road trying to find Emma Mill’s house.
“This is ridiculous,” moaned Phil, “we’ve been driving up and down this road for over 10 minutes now and we still haven’t found her house!”
“Look we’ll try once more ok? I mean it must be here somewhere!”
“Why can’t her house have a number like normal places! I mean who calls their home ‘Daisy House’ anyway?”
“Do you have to be so rude?” complained Sam, “There’s nothing wrong with having a name instead of a number. My home when I was a child had a name.”
“Sorry I’m just fed up of going up and down the same stupid street for ages.” Apologised Phil.
They searched the street once more and still couldn’t find the house so decided to head back.
“So what was your house called then?” Phil asked.
“Oh nothing it doesn’t matter. So anyway,” Sam tried to change the subject, “Do you think Lisa Harrington’s having an affair?”
“Seriously what was it called?” Phil persisted.
“Well if you must know it was called “Princess Cottage”,” Sam answered, predicting Phil’s reaction. Phil couldn’t help but laugh. He couldn’t really imagine Sam living in a place called that. She wasn’t really a princess sort of girl.
“Shut up,” said Sam, giving him a playful punch.
After they’d been driving along for a while, Sam was looking out of the window when she suddenly noticed the name of the road that they were passing. She was rather confused.
“Phil, are we going round in circles or something?” she asked.
“Of course not,” he replied, “Funnily enough I do know my way to the station by now. What makes you think that?”
“Well we’ve just passed Tolden Avenue.”
“And….?” Phil was struggling to see Sam’s point.
“Well isn’t that the road we’ve just been driving up and down for ages?”
“No, that was Tolden Road.”
“Phil you idiot, I said she lived at “Daisy House” on Tolden Avenue,” Sam pointed out, “Avenue not road!”
“No I’m sure you said Road,” he protested.
“Well whatever we’ve been searching the wrong road!” Sam complained. “You’ll have to turn round; Tolden Avenue was just up there.”
When they finally turned onto the correct road they found the house quite easily.
lmao, funny. what a couple of idiots to go up and down the wrong road!! And 'princess cottage' what a name!! lol
Great chapter, I agree, a couple of idiots.
hey sorry it's taken so long to update but I've been pretty busy
Chapter 5
After the minor mix-up, Sam and Phil finally arrived at Emma Mill’s house. They weren’t speaking to each other as each of them blamed the other for earlier. Sam knocked and a woman opened the door. She was probably in her mid 30’s and had mid-length bleached blond hair.
“Emma Mills?” Sam asked. The woman nodded.
“I’m DS Nixon and this is my colleague DS Hunter,” Sam told her in a slightly bitter tone when referring to Phil, “May we come in and ask you a few questions regarding your friend Lisa Harrington?” Emma nodded and gestured for them to come in.
“Now I believe you spoke to my colleague earlier, DC Masters?” Sam checked
“Yeah and I’ve already told her that I wasn’t with Lisa last night. I don’t really know how much help I can be.”
“It’s alright; we just have a few more questions to ask,” Sam encouraged, “Any thing you say may help us to find her…”
“Did you ever have plans to meet up with Lisa last night?” Phil cut in.
“No,” Emma replied.
“Do you have any idea where Lisa may have gone?” He asked.
“No,” she repeated, “look so far you’re just asking the same as that other cop.”
“We’re just trying to get a clearer picture of what happened,” Sam explained.
“How long have you two been friends?” Phil asked.
“Bout a year I suppose.”
“Don’t you think it’s a bit weird that Lisa would tell her husband she was going out with you and then not tell you anything about it?”
“I dunno. She was probably going out to buy him a present of something and just didn’t get round to telling me.” Emma suggested.
“Well you see I don’t think…” Phil began as Sam shot him a stern look.
“DS Hunter!” Sam warned. She found it rather annoying that Phil was acting so accusingly towards Emma. It wasn’t exactly the best way to encourage her to open up to any key information.
“If you don’t mind me asking, how did you and Emma become friends?” Sam asked Emma in a friendlier manner than Phil.
“Umm…we…umm…met through other friends at some party” Emma answered.
“Well ok that’s all we want to ask for now,” Sam told her, “but if you think of anything else that might assist us in finding Emma, however small it is, we would appreciate it if you could either ring the station or pop in and see us.”
“Alright, but I doubt I’ll think of anything.” Emma replied as she showed them to the door.
“Well if you do make sure you let us know,” Phil called after her as she shut the front door.
Sam and Phil both got into the car silently and headed back into the station. They’d been in the car for about 5 minutes when Phil began to speak.
“This is getting ridiculous; we can’t go the whole day without talking. It might help to talk to each other so that we can actually solve this case.”
“Well that’s not really much of a problem now is it due to the fact that I’m actually meant to be working on this case with Jo anyway?!” Sam answered back.
“Fine I won’t help you in the future if that’s the thanks I get!” Phil snapped back at her.
“You were only helping in the first place just so you could out of paper work!”
“Whatever,” Phil replied as Sam turned away to look at the window.
Please review :)

its sexual frustration as they say!!!!!!
Chapter 6
Phil and Sam had remained silent for the rest of the journey back to the station. When they got back into CID Phil went back to his desk and Sam went over to Jo.
“Hey Jo, Have you had any luck with phoning Lisa’s friends?” Sam asked.
“Not much,” Jo replied, “Oh except one of her friends did mention that she knew that Lisa had just lost rather a large sum of money and she doesn’t think that the husband knows.”
“Does she know how she lost the money?”
“Apparently Lisa went away with a group of friends to Vegas and got carried away in the casino. When she tried to win back the money she had lost she managed to loose even more.”
“Well done Jo, I think this could well be linked to her disappearance.”
“Where did you and Phil disappear off to earlier?” Jo asked. “I bumped into Emma Keane earlier and she said that she had been looking over the cctv footage with Honey. I though you and Phil were doing that?”
“Oh we went to Emma Mill’s house to see if we could get anymore information from up face to face,” Sam told her.
“Oh right, any luck?”
“Not particularly,” Sam told her, “I think she may have been holding something back but Phil was acting really accusingly towards her which I think scared her off.”
“Bye the way, Emma Mills was actually one of the friends that Lisa was away with in Vegas,” Jo told her.
“That’s weird, I’m surprised she didn’t tell us that, although she may have if Phil hadn’t of been there,” Sam said bitterly.
“Have you and Phil fallen out or something?” Jo asked.
“We just had a bit of argument due to certain people…” Sam emphasised ‘certain’ whilst glaring in Phil’s direction, “…were capable of driving to the correct road.”
Zain Nadir wondered over,
“What’s going on here?” he asked, sensing the tension.
“Sam and Phil are having a bit of a domestic,” Jo joked. Sam glared at Jo and then wondered off to find Emma and Honey so she could ask them if they’d found out anything from the cctv footage they’d been looking at.
“Serg,” Jo called after her, “Do you want me to see if I can contact the other friends that Lisa was with in Vegas?”
“Yeah, alright,” Sam called back.
Thanks for all the nice comments about my script :)
Brilliant two chapters that I had missed, just been catching up. Very good, I think when they argue it makes it good because they then make up. Making up's always the best part, sometimes it's funny watching/reading one of their arguments as well. Please post more soon.
sorr y it's been a while,
Chapter 7
As predicted Honey and Emma hadn’t spotted Lisa once after searching the entire collection of the club’s cctv videos. Sam hadn’t thought they’d find anything anyway as Lisa hadn’t been with who she said she would be with so it was unlikely that she was in the place she said as well. But it was worth checking just in case. Sam then realised that she didn’t actually know for sure that Lisa wasn’t with Emma; she had just been going on what Emma had said. She decided she’d have to call Emma to see if Emma had an alibi. Sam got Lisa’s number of Jo and went back to her desk to call. There was no answer so Sam realised that she would have to go round instead. She walked over to Jo’s desk,
“Jo, have you got a minute?” Sam asked
Jo looked up, “Yeah but just one.”
“Well I think we should re-visit Emma Mills to see if she has an alibi for last night,” Sam told her, “all we have is her word that they weren’t together and she did seem to be holding back something.”
“Yeah good idea but I was just going to suggest that we visit Carly Townsend, she’s one of the friends that went to Vegas,” Jo told her, “I phoned her up but she couldn’t speak long as she had to pick up her son from school. She began to tell me that apparently Emma Mills had been helping Lisa to make back some money.”
“Well do you want to go to see her then and I’ll go back to Emma’s,” Sam suggested as DC Suzie Simm came over, “Hey Suzie, are you doing anything at the moment?”
“No not really,” Suzie replied, “Do you need help with something?”
“Can you go with Jo to visit someone regarding the missing woman?” Sam asked.
“Ok.”
“Thanks, Jo can update you on the way.”
“Serg,” Jo and Suzie replied as they headed off to the car park.
“Sam,” Jack called from his office, “can I speak to you for a moment?” Sam walked over to his office and sat down. “How’s the Lisa Harrington Case going?” he asked her.
“Well we’ve got a few leads at the moment but nothing certain yet, “she replied, “I’m just heading over to her friends house to ask a few more questions.”
“Ah right, is Jo going with you?”
“No she’s gone to see another friend of Lisa’s with Suzie.”
“Well take Phil with you then as he’s not doing much,” Jack told her.
“I’ll be fine on my own,” Sam protested.
“Sam, you know you should always have someone with you in this job,” Jack warned her.
“I know but…” Sam began.
“That’s an order,” Jack said firmly. Sam nodded resentfully and headed out of the office and over to Phil’s desk.
“We need to go back over to Emma Mill’s house to ask her a few more questions,” Sam told Phil.
“Though you were working on this case with Jo and didn’t need my help?” He replied in a dismissive tone.
“Jo’s gone with Suzie to speak to someone else and anyway it’s Jack’s orders.”
“Fine,” Phil said sourly as he got up.
Really good update :D:D Hope you write more soon, I can't wait to see how Phil and Sam manage to work together after their arguement
lmao, there argument is so funny, reminds me of them on the actual tv program, especially earlier when Phil was saying about a pat on the bag and saying well done and Sam sarcastically goes: Well done Phil, I hope you're proud of yourself. lol.
hey, sorry its been a while since i updated.
Chapter 8
“So why are we going back to Emma’s house when we were only there a few hours ago?” Phil asked Sam as they drove towards Tolden Avenue (the right road this time!).
“We need to see if she has an alibi for last night to make sure that she was telling the truth that she wasn’t with Lisa last night,” Sam told him, “it did seem like she was holding something back earlier.”
“Yeah I suppose.”
They spent the rest of the journey in silence.
Sam knocked on Emma’s front door.
“Why are you back here?” Emma asked.
“We just want to know if you could tell us where you were last night if you weren’t with Lisa,” Sam told her.
“What’s that got to do with it? It’s Lisa you’re searching for isn’t it?”
“Don’t worry,” Sam reassured her, “it’s routine to find an alibi for all persons involved in \ missing person case.”
“Well I was at home all night watching the new series of ER,” Emma told her, “I never miss an episode.”
“Can anyone support this?” Phil asked.
“No I was alone, well unless my cat counts,” Emma replied.
“Ok, well we’d also like to ask you about Vegas,” Sam told her, “Is it true that Lisa lost a substantial amount of money when you were away there last year?”
“Yeah, she’d had rather a lot to drink and wasn’t exactly the best gambler.”
“And so you thought you’d help her make the money back didn’t you?” Phil asked Emma in a rather accusing manner?”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Emma replied defensively.
“Excuse my colleague,” Sam apologised, “would it be possible for you to accompany us down the station as we have a few more questions we’d like to ask you?”
“What, now?”
“Well unless you have somewhere else you’d rather be,” Phil said.
Sam glared at Phil, “What DS Hunter means to say is that it would3 really help us in our search for Lisa if you could spare a little of you time now.”
“Yeah alright,” Emma agreed, “let me just grab my bag.”
Whilst Lisa was collecting her bag Sam turned to Phil,
“What the hell’s your problem Phil?!”
“What do you mean?”
“Well you’re being really rude to Emma.”
Phil shrugged, “well if you carry on like that then she might not tell us anything else,” Sam told him, “She already seems like she’s holding something back!”
“Well that’s not my fault!” Phil replied back defensively, “it’s not like I’m telling her not to say anything to you is it?!”
“For heaven’s sake Phil, you know what I mean!” Sam snapped back, there conversation now at a rather loud level. Emma had just arrived in the door way.
“Ready,” she told them. She glanced at them and noticed the rather angry expressions the two DS’s were carrying. "Sorry am I interrupting something?" she asked.
“No!” Phil and Sam shot back at her before they realised the way in which they were speaking.
“Sorry,” apologised Sam, smiling at Emma, “Right lets get going.” Sam shot one last glare at Phil and encouraged Emma towards the car.
Hehehee bad Phil. Love the argument between them. they do arguments so well.
yeh they really have the best arguements lol.
Good update. Please write more soon :D:D

Oooh, how long was this up? Can't believe I missed it, very good loving the arguments just makes the 'make up' even better. Hang on, have I said that before? Sorry if I have, I think I have a repeating my sentences disorder since I do it a lot. hehe.
Chapter 9
Once they’d arrived back at the station, Phil took Emma to the interview room and some headed up to CID to see if Jo and Suzie had returned yet. She figured it would probably be better to find out what they had found out from Carly Townsend, Lisa’s friend that they had just gone to visit, before questioning Emma.
When she arrived in CID there was no sign of Jo or Suzie but she did spot DC Nadir.
“Hey Zain,” Sam called as she headed over to his desk, “do you know if Jo and Suzie are back yet.”
“No, I don’t think so,” he told her, “I haven’t seen them in a while.”
“Alright thanks.”
“So how’s your case going?” Zain asked.
“Bit slow to be honest, “Sam told him, “but at least we are making some progress.”
“Anything I can help with?”
“No don’t worry sure you’ve got your own case to work on anyway.”
“Yeah but there’snot really that much I can do as Mickie seems to have prettymuch taken over.”
Sam could sense a bitterness in his voice.
“Well just let me know if you do find you need me to do anything,” Zain let her know.
“Ok thanks, I will.”
Sam turned away to find Phil standing right behind her. She jumped,
“Oh my god Phil!” Sam explained, “did you have to sneak up on me?!”
“I didn’t!” he shot back at her, “now are you planning on coming back downstairs at any point?”
“Of course I am!” she shot back, “I was just asking Zain if he’d seen Jo and Suzie.”
“And had he?”
“No, he doesn’t think they are back yet.”
“Well what else have you been doing?” Phil demanded, “It doesn’t exactly take long to find that out!”
“Zain was asking me if there was anything he could help with.” Sam told him, “He was being friendly, something of which you know nothing about!” And with that same stormed out of CID.
“What do you think I was doing offering to help you with the case in the first place then?! I’d say that counts as being friendly!” Phil shouted after her.
“What’s with all the shouting?” Jo asked as she entered into the room with Suzie.
“Don’t worry; it’s just Phil and Sam having another domestic!” Zain jokingly told her. Jo and Suzie laughed.
“Haven’t you got some work to be getting on with DC Nadir?” Phil hinted angrily.
“Sarg,” Zain reluctantly replied as he sat back down at his desk.
“Serg,” Jo called after Phil as he headed towards the door, “don’t you want to know what we found out from Carly Townsend?”
“Yeah, what?” Phil asked bluntly.
“Well she’s pretty sure Emma has been helping Lisa to win back her money although she‘s not completely sure how although she has her suspicions,”
“What?”
“Well she’s pretty sure that Emma works as a prostitute although her suspicions have never been confirmed. She reckons this could be something to do with how Lisa has been making her money back.”
“Good work Jo, I’ll go let Same know as we’re about to interview Emma.”
“Ok Serg,” replied Jo, “Oh and Phil… be nice.”
“What is it with people telling me how to act towards Emma Mills?” Phil shot back defensively.
“I wasn’t talking about Emma.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Phil told her as he headed off to the interview room.
Sorry that they still argueing. There will be a bit more talk of feelings soon
Thanks for all the nice reviews:)
Ooo wow, he should denitely take Jo's agvice!! :D Be nice to sam and she'll be nice back, then they'll get on fine! Funny how it started off with going up and down a wrong street, I think.
lol that was a good chapter. Billfans right he really should take Jos advice :D
hey sorry I've been so busy reading eveeyone elses skripts that I completely forgot about mine!
Chapter 10
Actually Phil knew exactly what Jo was talking about. He felt guilty for yelling at Sam. When he remembered what had first caused their argument he realised just how ridiculous it was. They’d only fallen out because of a small misunderstanding, on both their parts, about a road. A road for heavens sake! He didn’t like arguing with Sam but recently they seemed to fall out quite a lot. It didn’t help when certain DC’s make stupid comments about them Phil thought bitterly.
By now Phil had reached the interview room. He went in and sat next to Sam.
“Interview started at 3:35,” he said as he sat down, “Right, Emma, could you please tell us where you were last night?”
“I’ve already told you this,” Emma complained.
“Sorry but we need you to tell us again for the benefit of the tape,” Sam explained.
“I was sitting at home watching TV,” Emma said talking directly in to the tape player, an obvious attempt to mock the two DS’s. Phil was unimpressed but tried to remain calm as he didn’t want Sam to get annoyed with him again. They spent the next five minutes repeating all of the questions that they had asked Emma back at her house before Phil was able to begin talking about the new information that Jo had given him.
“What do you do for a living Emma?” Phil asked. Sam looked a bit confused as Phil hadn’t got round to filling her in on the new information.
“What’s that got to do with anything?” Emma replied defensively.
“Just answer the question” Phil said, fed up with her attitude
“You could say I’m in public relations,” she told him.
“You’re a prostitute aren’t you?” Phil asked.
“So what if I am? You going to arrest me?”
“Not right this moment,” Phil replied. He hoped that Emma might be a little more co-operative if she believed that there was a small chance she could get arrested.
“DS Hunter could I speak to you outside for a minute please?” Sam asked.
Phil nodded, “Interview paused at 3:50, we’ll be back in a minute,” he told Emma.
“Sorry but just so I don’t spend the entire interview with a confused expression, do you mind letting me know what the point and reason is behind these recent questions?” Sam asked, “Where did you get the information that she was a prostitute from?” Phil could tell by the tone of her voice that she still wasn’t happy with him. Why would she he thought, they’d got into quite a shouting match upstairs.
“Well…” Sam was still waiting for an answer.
“Sorry,” Phil apologised, “Jo arrived in CID just as you left. Apparently Lisa’s friend believes that Emma’s a prostitute. Also Emma has been helping Lisa make back all the money she lost. She reckons the whole prostitute thing could be linked to how Emma is helping Lisa.”
“You think that maybe Lisa is a prostitute too?”
“Maybe, that’s what I was leading on to before we came out here.”
“I just wanted to be kept in the loop as well,” Sam replied defensively before heading back into the interview room. Phil was annoyed with himself for upsetting Sam again. It would help if she wasn’t so defensive Phil thought before following her back into the room.
“Interview resumed at 3:55” he said as he sat down, “So Emma… does Lisa know about your choice of life style?”
“What, does she know that I sleep with men and receive some money for it you mean?”
Phil nodded.
“Suppose,” Emma replied, obviously trying not to give out much information.
“Is it true that you’ve been trying to help Lisa regain all the money that she lost in Vegas?” Sam asked. Lisa nodded,
“For the benefit of the tape, Miss Mills just nodded.” Sam said, “so how exactly have you been doing this.”
“Oh this and that,” Emma replied.
“Can you be more specific?” Sam asked. Emma remained silent.
“Well you know I have an idea,” Phil told her, “I think you introduced her to the world of prostitution. Am I right?” Emma still remained silent.
Sam realised that they weren’t going to get anything more out of Emma for now,
“Ok well if you’ve nothing else you want to tell us we’ll finish for today. But we will probably want to speak to you again. “Interviewed finished at 4 15.”
Sam walked out of the interview room followed by Phil.

Chapter 11
“Hey Sam, wait a sec”, Phil called after her as they left the interview room.
“What?” Sam answered bluntly.
“Sorry if it seemed like I wasn’t including you in everything earlier,” Phil apologised.
“What do you mean?” Sam asked.
“Well that I didn’t let you know the information that I found out from Jo straight away.”
“It’s alright, I just like to know everything before I start interviewing someone.”
“Sorry.”
“Don’t worry,” Sam told him and began to walk away, although she lacked much forgivness in her voice.
“Sam one more thing…” Phil called after her again as he grabbed her hand to stop her leaving. Sam looked back at Phil and just for a second (but what seemed like an eternity, they looked straight into each others eyes. Sam pulled her hand away, not in a mean way but just because it was a bit awkward just standing there holding hands.
“Sorry” said Phil, “it’s just about earlier…”
“What about earlier?”
“We were arguing.”
“Yeah but what’s new?” Sam pointed out.
“Don’t be like that Sam, I’m trying to apologise here!”
“Obvious you don’t do it often!” Sam noticed the hurt on Phil’s face, “Sorry, go on.”
“Well I’m sorry for snapping at you and seeing as we seemed to fall out over such a small thing, call it quits?”
“Sure,” Sam smiled, “Sorry for snapping at you too.”
“Well I’m pretty parched,” Phil said, “Wanna come for a drink? We should be clocking off about now anyway.”
“Yeah sounds good,” Sam agreed, “I just got to grab my jacket so I’ll meet you there?”
“Sure, ok, see you in a minute,” With one last smiled Phil turned around and headed out of the station.

Chapter 12
Sam headed up the stairs back up to CID. She was recalling her conversation she had just had with Phil. She couldn’t work out whether or not Phil had just asked her out on a date. He’d asked her out alright but it was only for a drink after work, Jo asks her out for a drink after work at points and Sam was pretty sure that was never a date!. Sam told herself to stop reading so much into this and just go get her jacket, meet Phil, and then see how the night turns out.
“Sam!” Jo called to her as she entered CID, “any luck with the interview?”
“Well we got a bit out of her but she wasn’t being that cooperative.”
“Oh right, well I don’t know about you but I could really do with a drink, you coming?” Jo asked.
“Well actually I was already going to meet Phil down the bar,” Sam began.
“Great! The more the merrier! I’ll just see if Suzie wants to come aswell. Hang on.”
Whilst Jo went to get Suzie, Sam put her coat on. “Great” she thought sarcastically, whether or not it was supposed to be a date it certainly wasn’t anymore.
“Right, come on then,” said Jo as she appeared next to Sam with Suzie, “so you’ll be getting the first round in Sarg?” she asked Sam playfully. Sam rolled her eyes at Jo and then led the way down to the car park.
