Nick Jr to air classic 'Rainbow' eps

Rainbow is to make a TV comeback as part of a nostalgia block on kids channel Nick Jr.

The cult classic will air alongside the likes of Bagpuss, Mr. Benn, The Wombles and Paddington Bear in an 8pm-10pm slot specifically targeting an older audience.

The broadcaster has picked up 30 episodes from series 20, first shown in 1982, and will air them at 8pm on weekdays from next Monday, March 6.

"The show is very indicative of its time," said Stanley Bates, who played Bungle. "You couldn't make a modern version quite the same."
