Fasting for lent!

With the begining of lent starting tomorrow I was wondering if anyone was going to give anything up? Me and my flatmate have made a pact im going for crisps and she's going for chocolate it should help our diets anyway

well i never normally give anything up so think i'll give it a try lol. i was thinking tea but i dont think i could do it lol. so i think i'll give up crisps as well (like someone else said)

I was going to give up chocolate... but my Mum says just to cut down on it because she doesn't want to go buying special cereal bars and stuff for me! :rotfl: I might give up fizzy drinks, once I went like months without them and was really proud, but then I had one and got hooked again!

I had LOADS of chocolate today, I couldn't resist... no point what so ever me even trying for a day.
I'm still going to try on fizzy drinks though... I don't think I've had one lol.
My mate told me I should stop eating in class! :rotfl: I'm gonna try it tommorow... but I bet I'll get bored and eat anyway! :lol: :p

im giving up giving up. As i never stick to what i say. I think i might try and put some money to a charity every week. Thats benefiting someone else, which is what lents about.

why give anything up for lent, give up if you want. not for lent what does that do.

lent is an insentive, its jus tradition and I'm doing it to prove to myself i can- or can't lol anyhows 1 day down 39 to go.

Lent is to give something up that you know that you can leave with-out- it 6 weeks before jesus died..most people do it as they go to church

Yes lent is to do with christianity we give something up because Jesus fasted in the wilderness for forty days and nights during this period however this is not my reason for doing it as I am not religious

Im not giveing anything up. Because its like new years resolutions you never manage to keep them. If you give up something for 40 days you'll just eat more of it after

I gave up sweets and chocolate and cakes and stuff like that. I know this is stupid but I shall not be fasting for my birthday, it can't be helped that my birthday fell in the middle of Lent.

Hopefully I should lose a bit of weight.

i have given up crisps so far i have done ok except at luch today i bought a pack and didnt realise until i sat down and remebered i could not eat them, it was out of habit i bought them
