David Beckham has admitted that he struggles with his six-year-old son's maths homework.

The England captain was clueless when Brooklyn asked for help and had to request wife Victoria's assistance.

"Their homework is so hard these days," Beckham told The Mail on Sunday’s Live magazine. "I sat down with Brooklyn the other day and I was so like, 'Victoria, maybe you should do the homework tonight.'

"It's totally done different to what I was teached when I was at school. I was like, 'Oh my God, I can't do this.'"

Why would you admit that. we all know hes thick but thats just asking for it. How can any one find a 6 year olds maths homework hard. I could understand if it was equations or something but its probably simple subtraction.

Yeah but thats because your in the system. Things are totally different to how they used to be. For a start we learn lots of different things nowadays and things are taught differently. You could do it because you went through the same education as Brooklyn and would understand it but to people older than us the wording is completely wrong, I'm not surprised it didnt make sense

When a friend of Mr Beckham asked him about his wife's knickers, he thought his friend meant that his wife had been kidnapped.

:rotfl: Bless him! When I was 6 I found Maths Homework really easy! Though I was quite good at Maths then... when you get older and it's about algerbra and stuff it gets a lot harder!

A six year old would be doing basic maths, and I mean basic.

If I was a conman, I would have him at the top of my list.

Why does this thread not surprise me, lol! I mean, I don't think Victoria and David have two brain cells to rub together between them. At least David has a talent though, poor Victoria has nothing.

At 6, Becks really should be able to help. I can understand at 11/12 not being able to understand it, because when my son brought home his maths homework, the first thing I asked him was to show me how they are taught it, so i could make sure I wasn't going to show him a different way of working questions out. Anyway, I did not understand one iota of how he was working out the questions - long addition and subraction totally confused me! And I got high grade maths and stats gcse's so I'm not daft by any means.

But at 6, he should be able to understand it....

There is a brilliant spoof quiz for the Beckhams in todays Daily Mail, unfortunately there is no link on their website
