Corrie star to join 'Where The Heart Is'

Shobna Gulati is joining the cast of ITV1's Where The Heart Is.

The Coronation Street actress will replace Denise Van Outen, who has decided to leave the show to pursue other projects. Van Outen's final scenes will air part way through her second series, which airs in the summer.

A source told the Sunday Mirror, "Denise has got loads of exciting projects lined up. And Shobna is absolutely thrilled to take her place."

Van Outen has signed up to host the second series of Celebrity Love Island as a replacement for Kelly Brook.

thats quite a good thing actually as Denise Van Outen was absolutly dreadful in where the heart is, and i quite like Shobna Gulati. I love Where the heart is its one of those programmes that my dad describes as "good rubbish"

I'm afraid i am reserving judgment - Denise Van Outen was pretty wooden, but I also think Shobna is too (and her voice kind of irritates me, sorry). My first thought when I saw this though, was "oh brilliant....not"

oh yeah i like Danny i think thats what he was called, They still havent got a replacement nurse for Sally as her character died. I wonder who will fill that spot.

typical denise...shes given a big role and she spits it out and moves on... she hadnt done anythign for ages, and Where The Heart Is gave her a chance to shine...what will she do after this? nothing!

As for shobna i think she could fit in very well, as she is good at playing friendly characters...which is what the nurses of skelthewaite are known for

Denise has pratically only just turned up i cant belive she is leaving i liked her relationship with that other lad Danny i think his name is but i cant remember

I hope she isnt killed off like they killed Sally

I cant really remember much about her character as she hasnt been in it long enough wasnt she like only in 4 maybe 5 episodes before the series ended
