'Family Values'
Airing Monday, 27th February 2006 at 14:05 on BBC One


Arriving back to work, Mac has spent the whole weekend visiting his Son in Ireland, worrying about Peter Kendrick, which has annoyed Julia.

Faith is late for work having stayed over at Rob's. Julia and Greg tease Faith, until Faith tells Greg that Rob said that he loves her. Greg is delighted, but concerned as Rob has no idea of Lex's drug experimenting, and Faith is convinced some money is missing from her purse. Greg and Faith agree that she needs to either talk to Lex, or Rob. Sarah is despondent watching Faith's budding romance, and lack of her own. Greg reminds Sarah that she is to be chief bridesmaid for her Gran, but this reminds her further.

Mac is furious when he speaks to the PCT and finds that despite his personal plea to the Chief Executive of the PCT, no one has done anything to help Peter Kendrick yet. Julia suggests her own investigating, maybe she can pull a few strings with contacts in the PCT. When Jenny, Peter's wife, calls from her Mother's in Devon, Mac learns that Peter is missing from home and the surgery.

Meanwhile, Elderly Joyce Elliott has Osteoarthritis and her husband, Bill, has Parkinsons. When Joyce scalds herself, her husband is concerned, but Joyce knows that she was meant to have a knee replacement so is reluctant to visit the Mill, hence when she goes Mac is shocked to see Joyce. Joyce cannot care for Bill if she is admitted for treatment.

Mac realises that Bill has no idea about Joyce's proposed knee replacement.

Mac suggests that their adult daughter care for Bill for a while, but Joyce tells Mac that Susan does not help them. The truth is that Susan was adopted by Joyce and Bill, and when Susan chose her natural Father, rather than Bill to give her away at her wedding, Joyce has refused to acknowledge her daughter, and Bill has been meeting her secretly.

Mac offers to arrange a carer whilst Joyce has her knee surgery, but encourages Susan to be allowed to help Bill instead, which Joyce agrees to, leaving Joyce free to have surgery.

'Three's A Crowd'
Airing Tuesday, 28th February 2006 at 14:05 on BBC One

In Sarah's absence for her Gran's wedding, Julia decides to cover her duties at the Mill, but quickly realises how stressful and busy reception can be.

Faith deliberates how to deal with her problem with Lex. Greg encourages Faith to grab the bull y the horns, which she does, accusing Lex of stealing money from her purse. Lex is angry, but appears to confirm his guilt as he knows how much money is missing from Faith's purse.

Mac disagrees with Julia and Greg over his pursuit for help for Peter Kendrick. Peter's whereabouts unknown, Mac is so concerned that he tries to report Peter as missing to the Police, but quickly realises that they will do nothing to search for him. Mac takes time out to search the streets for Peter, and catches up with Peter Kendrick, bewildered and alone at the Sutton Vale surgery, and takes him home.

Meanwhile, Jean, Sarah's Gran is getting married to Sam today following a whirlwind romance. Sarah is supporting her Gran as chief bridesmaid, but most relatives from both families disagree with the marriage so late in life and so quickly. When Sam's best man, and fellow colleague from their army days, Laurie, refuses to be Sam's best man at the last minute because he doubts the marriage, Sam and Jean are shocked, and it casts doubts in their mind.

When Laurie has a sudden heart attack, Sarah's quick reactions help him get help, and Jean realises the strength of love between Sam and Laurie. They have known each other for years, and care for each other as best friends through thick and thin. Jean feels like she is competing, and she does not want to do that. Sam and Jean are close, and decide to continue to see each other but do not have to seal this with marriage.

'Young Mothers Do Have Em'
Airing Wednesday, 1st March 2006 at 14:05 on BBC One


Julia watches as Mac medicates and assures a confused Peter Kendrick, who remains in their guest bedroom, that the Sutton vale Surgery is fine. Julia is concerned by Mac's personal involvement, but Mac reminds Julia that Julia's alcoholic friend was a house guest not long ago.

Faith goes to see Lex alone, and bravely tells him that she will have to tell Rob about Lex's drug use, and her missing money. Lex threatens Faith that he will make her relationship with Rob end.

Julia breaks the news to Mac that the locum at Peter's Sutton Vale Surgery has suddenly quit the post.

Meanwhile, Ashley is 17 and pregnant. Her Mum, Tina, is ashamed by her own teenage pregnancy and is young enough to be a lap dancer in order to earn enough to give her Ashley choices in life. Ashley's boyfriend, Holden is on probation completing his community service at The Mill. Greg met Holden when he was arrested.

Ahsley initially accepts the pregnancy, but also accepts Elizabeth's referral for a termination, but then decides to keep the baby despite her boyfriend, her age and her Mother's disapproval. Holden, Tina and Ashley resolve their differences when Elizabeth helps Tina realize that having her own daughter has enriched her life. Holden's IT skills, are shown to maybe be his chance to prove his criminal background wrong and have a second chance.

'Ignorance Is Bliss'
Airing Thursday, 2nd March 2006 at 14:05 on BBC One


Mac announces that although Sutton Vale Surgery is not his responsibility he will send Jimmi to cover Peter's appointments and get a locum at the Mill to cover George's part-time hours. Jimmi has a hangover, and feels unable to challenge Mac's sudden decision to send him to Sutton Vale and cover Peter's Surgery. Jimmi is left feeling unsupported by his colleagues.

Julia regrets the day that Mac became a mentor for the PCT, but George reminds Julia that it was her idea. Julia warns Mac to slow down and wait for the PCT to act.

Faith asks George whether she thinks a post natal group for single mums is a good idea. George is full of praise for single mums, but reminds Faith how stretched she is.

Mac updates Charles Murray from the PCT on his actions, that he is treating Peter's depression and covering appointments at Sutton Vale Surgery, complaining about the PCT's incompetence. Charles Murray retaliates with no assistance, reminding Mac that his actions have stemmed further crisis for Peter and Sutton Vale Surgery. Mac is dismayed to be left high and dry.

Meanwhile, Louise Clancy has a new born baby and is living back with her Mum, Gwen, and Louise's partner has left her. Baby Poppy is having immunisations at the Mill. Louise is depressed and upset by the lack of support by Poppy's Father, and increasingly very dependent on Gwen, who is single at the moment. When Gwen is found to have an STI, Chlamydia, Louise is upset that her Mum has not used protection, but shocked that she has not told her about the younger man she has had sex with, Andy, leaving Louise feeling lonely and unloved.

Andy is a fit yoga teacher that George knows, interested in baby yoga classes. Louise wants to move out immediately, but needs her Mother's support still. Faith and George help Louise focus and accept her Mother's confidence as a woman, and her support. Louise will look at living alone and coping, but one step at a time.

'After The Roses'
Airing Friday, 3rd March 2006 at 14:05 on BBC One


Peter Kendrick is not taking his anti-depressants and goes missing from Mac and Julia's home, arriving at Sutton Vale Surgery disorientated.

Jimmi alerts Mac to Peter's behaviour, but when Mac arrives he is unable to cope with Peter's paranoia. Mac is assaulted by Peter.

Whilst doing washing for Rob, Faith finds cannabis in Lex's clothes. Rob is led to believe that this is Faith's when Lex outwits Faith during a confrontation. Faith leaves tearful, shocked that Rob believes his Son rather then her.

Jimmi continues to cover appointments at Sutton Vale Surgery.

Meanwhile, Mum, Aisha, is living in a fantasy world unable to acknowledge the death of her daughter, Inaya, from an ecstasy tab. Teenage daughter, Kameela, initially joins in her Mother's fantasy and pretends that her sister is still alive, but this is so painful to watch that Kameela refuses to speak.

Father, Sharif, cannot cope with his bereaving family, and Jimmi helps the truth be spoken, that Inaya is dead and that the family needs to acknowledge this. Jimmi refers for bereavement counselling.
