Eva Green has been selected to take the role of Vesper Lynd, the female lead in the upcoming Casino Royale, which began filming last month.
Green first hit the screen in 2003's The Dreamers alongside Michael Pitt and Louis Garrel, and last year featured in Ridley Scott's historical epic Kingdom of Heaven.
Earlier this week it was confirmed that Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen will play the part of the villain, Le Chiffre.
