sorry if theres a thread already on this but i couldnt find one and also i hope its in the right place.
anyway...
a lot of celebrities moan about having their picture taken and that their private life is being invaded and i just wondered what people thought about this. do you think that the paparazzi have the right to follow stars around cos theyre famous or do you think they should be left alone? also do you think that its sometimes the stars own fault that the get hassled from photographers?

i think that it comes with fame. celebrities wouldnt be famous if they didnt have there pictures taken.

I think it's completely out of order to be honest. People (whether their celebrities or not) are entitled to their private space and the paparazzi prevent them from having any, which would enrage me if I was in the celebrities' position!
I think it depends on the situation. Some people, like sportstars etc, just receive celebrity status because they're great at what they do. Public obsession with them is not their fault at all, they're just doing something they enjoy, and for the country. Other people, like singers and models etc, know exactly what they're getting themselves into, so if they want their private life, kept private, then they shouldn't go professional. It's their choice, so they shouldn't moan about it, because at the end of the say, a lot of people are probably only moaning about it, to get their faces in the paper again

but i think that certain 'celebrities' would make a fuss if they werent in the papers/magazines but i do agree that some people should be left in peace.

thats a good point, moaning about it gives them more publicity. however, i dont understand your other point, surely sportstars know what theyre getting themselves into too, i mean they might enjoy what they do but surely so do singers? what makes it different that say footballers for example want to play for premiership clubs instead of a local team and singers who want to sell thousands of records instead of just singing in local clubs etc

what about the celebrities that try and get photographed at every opportunity and do things just to get publicity, should they be allowed to moan the one time they get pictured when they dont want to be?
What i mean, is that a lot of sports stars, like the people at the olympics or whatever, get celebrity status because they're good at it. They dont do it for the fame, but because of a love of the sport. Quite a few singers etc only release singles for money, and attention. Not all, i know, but a lot.

oh right i think i understand now, it was obviously just me having a blonde moment! yeh i dont think the people at the olympics and stuff do it for the fame
Exactly, they don't but get it. They should be the only ones moaning about it, not all these "wanabees"
It annoys me when these celebs say they wish the press and fans etc would leave them alone,if it wasnt for them then they wouldnt be famous and have all there money in the first place - i think they should remember this when they start complaining

yes i think it goes with the territory, if you are famous then it is bound to happen. some celebs use the media when they want the publicity and need some attention, like the beckhams, but then they cannot moan the other times when they dont get left alone. they cant have it both ways!
