Heya! :) This is a short simple one-parter about two newly-weds. I hope you like it. :)
Fading Away
‘I can’t believe I finally made you Mrs Coleton!’ said Paul, cheerfully.
‘I can’t believe I was stupid enough to let you make me Mrs Coleton!’ said Cassie, smirking.
‘Shut up!’ Paul said, pretending to be angry.
‘Oh, you make me feel so guilty!’ replied Cassie, rolling her eyes.
Paul took a deep breath – and then started tickling her.
‘Stop it Paul, stop it!’ she said, through giggles.
‘No! Mwahahahaha!’ he said, then stopping a few seconds later.
‘Nice evil laugh.’ said Cassie, rolling her eyes again.
‘Thank you.’ he said, rolling his eyes back at her.
‘I’m so glad I married you, you’re the sweetest man I’ve ever met – I truly love you!’ she said.
‘We’re here!’ said the taxi driver.
‘Oooo I just can’t wait!’ said Paul, getting out of the taxi.
‘Me neither,’ said Cassie, also getting out of the taxi. ‘I really meant what I said in there Paul – I’ll always mean it.’
Paul smiled and said ‘You ain’t so bad after all!’
‘Hey! You know I’ve always been an angel!’ she said fluttering her eyelashes, whilst getting her bags out of the car.
‘Of course I know! But then there’s the devil side aswell!’
‘You’re so mean! she said, as the taxi drove away. ‘But I still love – hey I haven’t got one of my bags!
‘Oh no!’ said Paul. ‘You chase the taxi and see if you can get it – I’ll take these in.’
‘OK,’ she said, and ran after it.
She eventually caught up with it as the traffic was quite bad, she knocked on the window and mimed ‘My bag?’ the taxi driver understood her and unlocked the boot.
She got it shouted ‘Thanks!’ and ran back to the airport as she wanted to be with Paul as soon as possible – she couldn’t stand moments without him.
She got there but found a large crowd of people in the car park. She heard one person murmur ‘Did you hear the gunshot?’
‘Gunshot?’ said Cassie to herself. ‘Who’s been shot?’
She pushed people out of the way, trying to find Paul so she could find out who had been shot, but when she found him she burst into tears as he was being carted off into an ambulance.
‘Wha-What happened to him? Surely no-one shot him, please tell me!’ she said to one of the paramedics.
‘We’re not sure,’ they replied, as she got into the ambulance.
‘I just don’t get this!’ she said, looking at Paul. ‘He’s such a good man.’
‘I’m sure he is dear.’ said the paramedic.
‘Gerald,’ said the other paramedic. ‘He’s loosing too much blood – I don’t think he’s going to survive.’
‘What!?’ said Cassie. ‘Surely you can do something?’
‘We’ll try.’ said the paramedic.
‘He’s dieing right this second isn’t he?’ said Cassie, tears running down her face.
‘Yes.’ said the paramedic, patting Cassie on the back.
Cassie took a deep breath and wiped her tears away and then hugged Paul.
‘I love you and I always will – don’t you ever worry about that.’ she said, tears still dripping down her face as she felt Paul’s life fading away in her arms.
