hi. i was watching the bill on UK gold today and it was a really action packed great episode with a great mix of crime and characters personal lives. when i compare the Uk gold (the bill) with that of the present day (the bill) i cant help thinking how much better it was then. last nights episode of the bill wityh Lewis in was extreamly boring and not a patch on previous episodes. doea anyine else think like this?
Sometimes I must admit that it's true. Might be because UKTV Gold has got big cases ie; Sunhill seriel killer, bent Hunter. The nowadays Bill hasn't at the mo. They might start one though. I know something is happening next week and it could turn into a big case but I won't say what because otherwise it wouldn't be general, it would be spoiler!!!

yes although the bill is still really good the old bill was better. it has now gone a bit soap like with some good storylines but weak ones too.

in anther chat forum the bill fans were saying they prefered present day bill because it is all crime related, although i agree that it should be crime related as this is the nature of the programm, i also think there is a distinct need for the bill characters preivate lives to be involved and scripted in a good way that doesnt over exhaust a storyline or be too unreaal or be dragged on foe ages and ages. this way and the way it is done in ukgold episodes keeps me interested!

i think the bill is more boring now than on uk gold but they might have a big storyline soon
i think it started going down hill slightly when they added more episodes. I think that it was better when they focused on a story per episode and not long running continuing ones. I still love the bill though.

I like the way the stories are spread out over several weeks now. It gives more depth to the storylines. The latest one with Sgt. Smith would be ruined by trying to crush it into one episode. It has been going along nicely for some time now and I am throughly enjoying it.
The Bill did get bad last year with the ridiculous storyline and Marquess's reliance on Rape and Murder oh and lets not forget the worst story ever. The Gabriel/David K*nt rubbish. Completely farcical and a total insult to anyone's intelligence.
For anyone interested ther is an interesting questionaire on the Bill website :)
i know i like the way the storys run over weeks but dont like how they focus more on the staff rather than the characters who have been convicted or arressted. My other post didnt really make sense sorry.

I know what you mean. For me the Bill has become more realistic. Some of the characters though would never survive in a real police station with the attitude they have towards authority and police procedure. Sam Nixon and Yvonne Hemmeroid spring to mind immeadiatly as two who seem to be operating to their own agenda. As for the Chinese detective I cant wait to see her get her comeuppance in the near future.
i always think now it looks well laidback and they never seem to do that much work. There all to busy with there personal lives. when i first watched the bill i well wanted to become a copper.

i think the bill has changed but dont all shows go through phases ee went down hill a little while ago but is gradually coming back up again the bill is good when it has a good storyline going which is most of the time hopefull well see more with the new producer
also i have done the questionaire and it does have some good questions
