Actor Gary Oldman has been axed from the next Harry Potter movie, it has been claimed.

The 47-year-old actor, who starred in the last two Potter films The Prisoner of Azkaban and The Goblet of Fire, has reportedly not signed up to reprise his role as Sirius Black. (pic: Warner Bros)

His manager Douglas Urbanski said: "You will be shocked to learn there are no plans for Gary to appear in the film.

"We are left with no choice but to pursue other employment for him."

This comes as filming of The Order of The Phoenix began at Leavesden Film Studio, Herts.

Warner Brothers spokeswoman Vanessa Davis confirmed no deal had been struck with Oldman, although one might still be arranged.

She added: "With any film the priority is confirming the cast who will be on the set from the outset. They include Imelda Staunton."

A senior source said: We cannot say at the moment whether Gary Oldman will be in the film or not."

well the films were bad enough as it was, but they have just made a killer mistake, Gary Oldman was Siruis and no one, repeat no one could play Sirius, and this comes from a non-harry Potter fan. Mind you Oldman is starring in Fincher's Zodiac so Im happy. If Oldman has been axed screw the crew from Harry Potter Gary is so much better than those films anyway.

lmao - dont worry im not going to go off my nut lol - he is going to be in it look -

We've just been told by Warner Bros that both actors (playing Sirius Black and Lupin, respectively) are still under negotiations to appear in Order of the Phoenix - they will begin filming this summer. This comes just as rumors earlier today reported the contrary

Harry Potter producers have confirmed Gary Oldman will reprise his role as Sirius Black in Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix - despite reports to the contrary. Oldman, who has appeared in the last two movies adapted from JK Rowling's popular children's books, has yet to be signed for a third term - even though filming for Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix has already begun. But producer David Heyman insists there is plenty of time for Oldman to sign up: "We're not shooting his part for quite a while, and as is always the case, you begin with the parts that are most pressing. We have every intention of having Gary Oldman play Sirius Black."
