How Long?

How long do you think it takes to actually get over a person and be ready to move on?

Basically I was with my ex for 6 years and we had a trial seperation since Dec but I was still living with him. I've now moved out (on Monday) But a guy from work has asked me out for a drink and I'm not sure weather to go or not? I do really like him but I'm not sure if its too soon or not?

Any suggestions?

There's nothing wrong with an innocent drink. Go and see how you feel when you're there. If it doesn't feel right then it doesn't have to lead to anything

Jade, if you feel ready, it isn't too soon. If you go for a drink with him, you'll soon get a feeling of whether you feel it is too soon or not. Yes, 6 years is a long time with someone, but (to sound blunt) life goes on and is too short. I say, have a drink with him, see how you feel when you are out and if it feels right, great, if it doesnt, you know its too soon and you can still be friends with the guy :D

I've not been on a date for 6 years!!!!! scary!!!!And if the guy he lovely, I am sure he understands the situation, and if you do like him, but feel a bit uncomfortable about being more than friends with him or anyone at the moment, let him know and you could at least go out a few times as friends first.

I haven't been on a date for 10 years and that is sooooo scary lol. I wouldn't want to be out there again thats for sure....

It is the most scary feeling.. I split with my ex after 13 years so I know what first dates are like... I gave myself some time before I dated again but I had fun going places and flirting which I hadn't done in ages...
Jade, there is no time limit, go out with this guy, have fun and enjoy what life has to give you now
