In my english class today we had to do an essay about who our hero or idol would be. A lot of us didn't have a hero and nobody knew what counted as a hero. What do you think counts as a hero and do you have one?

i think a hero is some one you look up to and admire them for what they do and stuff.. (my personal opinion) and nope i dont have one
I agree Lea, and in some cases it could be someone who has saved their life or had a significant impact by helping them.

Yes, I agree too. My idol is Doris Day who used to be a singer/actress. I admire her very much! So I think it is someone who you maybe want to be like or look up to!

it takes a lot for someone to be a hero, to be one you have to do something heroic. you can admire someone or really like a pop band but they are not heroes.

how you know there not heros? you dont know what theyve done in life
For me I think my most recent Hero's are the people of the emergency services, and many ordinary passengers that went to the london terror bombings, going into the tunnels and helping save lives, not knowing if the were going to get blown up by another bomb. Then having the harrowing task of removing the charred remains of the dead. Just thier job, you might say,but to me they are HERO's

Doris day is also a savior for all those animals that were stranded during the hurricane Katrina . She has done alot for abused animals in the USA.

I suppose a hero is someone you admire... I can't really think of someone I admire... when I was younger I admired Britney though! :rotfl:
I used to think Michael Jackson was my hero after what he did to help many children in hospitals but my opinion of him has changed a lot since then
I think now my Hero could be someone like Doris Day or Sharon Osbourne :) Mad, yes I know.
i would say a hero is someone who you admire, for me my hero would be my mate John whose a paramedic he would do anything to help me and is always there when i need to talk.
I would also admire my nana. After having throat cancer and having her voice box being taken out, she has been so brave and supportive.

Always has been and always will be Michael for me i used to watch him all the time growing up i learnt how to click my fingers from watching him all the time he was so talented ive never admired a star like i admired him since then and prob never will, i aint to much of a fan of him now but i still like him in a way.
I have heros at the moment one would be my grandpa and i'm not planning on revealing the other on:p But they have both been throught alot and my grandpa was always there for me before he died and this person is always there for me no matter what which i totally admire her for as my life seems a bit messed up at the moment with everything going on but i thank her so much for standing by me lol some people might even know who i'm on about:p well there's actually 3 people but 2 people fit one discription lol.

maybe they are heroes to people in a sense ok the majority havent saved a child from a burning inferno but their lyrics might have shown someone theres a way out or another alternative,
my hero is myself:) not because i have a huge ego or anything, because theres several times in my life where ive done bad but picked up the peices or walked away and where im from thats hard or gave good advice/been there for people/took a bullet for the prime minister (ok i made that one up) it dont matter all i know is if i dont believe in myself no one else will and one day ill have a national holiday:bow:
(joke again)

Just as Heroes was gaining some creative momentum comes word of another setback: Bryan Fuller has vacated his post as consulting producer.
The acclaimed Pushing Daisies auteur tells me that he left to focus on developing new projects for NBC, and not (as some have speculated) due to creative differences with series creator Tim Kring.
"I'm crafting two pilots right now and it's a lot of work," admits Fuller, who has an overall deal with NBC. "It was just too hard to [juggle] Heroes and my development; something had to give."

Todd Stashwick (The Riches) will join Heroes in a recurring role, The Hollywood Reporter writes. He will play Eli, who has close ties to the carnival’s ringleader Samuel.

Adrian Pasdar has been let go from NBC's Heroes.
Reports of a major character's death and departure from the show began circulating last month.
A studio rep for the NBC series would not confirm Pasdar's exit.
This isn't the first time Pasdar's character, Sen. Nathan Petrelli, has been killed off the series. At the end of Season 3, Nathan's throat was slit by Sylar, but Pasdar remained in the cast because the supervillain was forced to take on the guise and memories of the elder Petrelli brother.
The last time we saw the "new" Nathan, he had been shot by a hit man and unceremoniously buried. Since we're talking about Heroes, whether that's truly the end for Pasdar remains to be seen.
