Strange happening???

Last night, I went off to bed having done a piece of homework and could have sworn I shut the computer down. Then at half past six this morning, my mum comes into my room and tells me to get and shut the computer down, only I find the screen shut (It's a laptop, and it's in standby. What's going on???

No that hapens for some weird reason. It use to happen to my computer all the time because i never use to shut it down properly did you shut you'rs down properly if you haven't that might be the reason.

Or you could be like me, a sleep walker. I do all sorts of things in my sleep, I woke up last night tidying out cupboards, and I often put on the TV etc in my sleep.

That is so weird that that's happening to you! The other week I let my dog out in the morning and came on the computer to check my email. After about 1/4 of an hour I started thinking that she had been out a bit longer than usual because she usually barks when she wants to be let in but she hadn't. I went outside to look and I couldn't see her anywhere! I started panicking that she must have escaped and I came back in the house and she came running down from upstairs! I totally don't remember letting her in but I must have!....

I also come downstairs to find the computer on the screen where it says "Its now safe to turn your computer off", even though i pushed the button in. It always happened. Having said that, i do think i have ghosts....

You must have pushed stand by and not turned off as my turn off computer and stand by are so near each other.

I thought that when my mum first told me but I only have the options "Log off, turn off or restart unless I change them, which I hadn't. I couldn't of gone on restart because it was logged on on my account after I got it out of the power save mode, the bit where the screen goes off but the computer is still turned on. I also found one of those 'proram not responding' things for some program that I've never used.

maybe the battery was low when you turned it off and instead of turning off it went into standby?

The laptop was plugged into the mains at the time though.
