yes i suppose so, if it catches things early and stops the NHS having to pay a fortune out years later in heart attack care etc.

If we are talking about screening programs, a definite yes - if we are talking, a general MOT, then I still think yes as like pookie said, it will save a lot of money in the long run if things are discovered early enough (high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure etc) so they can be treated.
