One of Preston's first priorities when he leaves the house will be to catch up on more than three weeks of EastEnders episodes.

The singer, who has ambitions of appearing in the BBC soap, had asked his girlfriend to tape every episode he would miss.

"I've got six hours of EastEnders to watch when I get back," he told Chantelle after a morning spent contemplating his return to the outside world. "But it's going to be so weird because everyone else is going to know what's happened."

Proving that he was worthy of Chantelle's new nickname for him - the affectionate "geek" - Preston added: "But six hours isn't that long. That's like, two Lord of the Rings."
